Well, KBR is selling assets/branches to pay for the corrupted employees/staff and also pay for shareholders. As far as the R&D, KBR is not doing any R&D, many years ago, the leased their technology center in Katy to a company that was doing R&D in carbon nanotubes but the company bankrupted and currently nothing is going on there, let them rent as a warehouse.
Zacks Equity Research on Nov. 6, 2015 had the following to say:
If you're looking for a stock in the Engineering/R&D Services industry,KBR Inc. could be one to watch closely. Right now the company has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) and it has been seeing rising earnings estimate revisions as of late. In fact, the full year consensus estimate has risen from $1.31/share to $1.47/share in the past 30 days, while five estimates have gone higher for the time frame and none lower. If that wasn't enough, KBR also has Style Score grades of "A' on the growth front and "B" momentum front so it could be considered from that perspective too. Anyway I am cheerleading this company because I want to make a profit, not yet but some day soon
What about the guy who was promoted to business development manager after 3 years of joining KBR and 6 months at Houston Port, that's all after barely completing first university degree?
Just because he's Pritham Ramamurthy buddy.
Good guys already left KBR and the company cannot really do any quality work.
It's not a huge change but it's in the right direction with KBR transforming into a more efficient company. KBR announced today that it has sold its Infrastructure American division to Stantec. It is another step in their efforts to make KBR more streamlined, customer-focused, and cost effective, so that they can deliver on their promises to their customers and shareholders. The $19 million transaction should close December 2015.
I still believe that this company will continue growing shareholder value but it will take time.
I've owned shares in companies that were much worse than anything KBR is, some of them went broke. The 60 year old with health issues hired because he is a friend of management is not unusual in companies this size and is not the root cause for KBR's problems. I think their results this quarter were actually better than I expected because they're operating in very difficult times for oil and gas throughout the world. Whenever prices for crude oil and natural gas rise again I think they have reorganized and should take advantage to reach up towards a $30 share price. I'm hoping that it happens during the next 2 years and that of course would only benefit those who bought their shares in the low $20s or lower, unfortunately those who paid more still won't be satisfied understandably.
EPS beat on Y/Y revs decrease of 27.6%. Purely cost cutting.
Backlog revenue decreased due to the BCP partnership and forex issues.
2016 Guidance to be provided with Q4 earnings. Expect lower guidance.
This is going to get UGLY.
All the best
October 29, 2015 - Another milestone North Sea Offshore Platform Complex for KBR: Maersk Oil's Culzean Field. Specifically, KBR will deliver the living quarters, central processing facility and well-head decks for three platforms for the Culzean project. KBR will also provide follow-on services to SMOE for the whole 32 month duration of the project. Every new project helps that much more with KBR's recovery.
Thanks for the information. I'm still hoping for an improved report on Monday and for the share price to climb over the $20 step. With the reorganization of the company they have to get better at what they do, at least that's what I'm hoping.
This is not the old KELLOGG NOR THE Brown & Root, it is very corrupted and mismanaged. I know a guy who is over 60 he has all kind of kind of health issues, he rarely goes and does something for the company and they hired him because he is a buddy of Bharat Bansal & Adriana Borreti. The guy himself told me he's with KBR to get his medications paid for.
KBR announced on Oct. 13, 2015 that it had won two construction services contracts from the U.S.
Government. The contracts, which were awarded under an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity scheme,
include a $249.5 million for support of various military installations and a $95 million for renovation works
within U.S. embassy facilities worldwide. Slowly but surely we are growing.
KBR plans to hold a conference call to discuss it third quarter 2015 financial results on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015 at 8 am central time. The company plans to issue its third quarter 2015 earnings release and earnings presentation in advance of the call.
Hoping that these results show a progression towards financial profitability.
It appears that the $20 floor of stability that I had hoped KBR had established by year end isn't likely to
happen so I'm hoping that in the first quarter of 2016 that we have a solid floor at $20 to hold up us up as the year progresses. There is a growing list of projects that should improve the EPS and help us extend our reach to the $30 mark, sure would be nice if it happened in 2016.
Well it's good to see that there's still some life in that old tired body that has been transformed. This small positive upside move today is appreciated and I hope it continues. I think everyone knows that it's going to take some time before it climbs up to the $30 range, but it will happen and as the quarterly reports continue to illustrate the success of the restructuring we should gradually benefit.

I think that we're just starting to see some rewards from the restructuring that KBR undertook, but it's going to take a lot longer and require higher crude prices for this share to climb up to the lofty spot that it should
The CC better be a good sales job......300M revenue decline yoy. EPS beat on "less than anticipated non reoccurring loss provisions" "lower overhead costs" and favorable correction of cumulative error".....We'll see how the street reacts.
All the best
KBR just announced that they will be hosting a conference call to discuss their second quarter 2015 financial results on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 8 am central time. They plan on releasing Q2 earnings in advance of the conference call. I had hoped that the share price had found a floor at $20 but that has certainly been pulled out from under us. Hope the earnings results can get us back on track.
Nice to see the June 9, 2015 announcement of the KBR - Kvaerner joint venture that landed a $860,000,000 Statoil platform contract. With thei know how and their connections KBR should be well on their way to recovery.
