Not many people remember good old Ralph and he had done to the stock value. Those 16 who had thumbs down must had purchased the stock during Weldon era.
With multiple clinical trials going on for concussions, arthritis, regrowth of joint tissues etc... we're probably going to see VODG go boom :) Can't wait.
JNJ would be wise to eye Cerus as a buyout before the Japanese step up!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Gotta love Goldman Sachs raising J&J at it's 52 week high and after beating the S&P by a mile, LOL
"Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) was raised to Neutral from Sell at Goldman Sachs. The stock closed at $107.71, has a consensus analyst target price of $108.33 and has a 52-week range of $81.79 to $107.79."
Sadly ironic, JNJ has invested millions of dollars in electrophysiology (EP), an invasive test to determine susceptibility to cardiac arrest. which he died of. A simple, non-invasive test, called Microvolt T-Wave Alternans (MTWA), can do the same thing far cheaper than EP. It received FDA approval 15 years ago but doctors and hospitals won't use it. MTWA is good enough to use on astronauts but not on other Americans. More than 300,000 Americans die annually (one every two minutes) from cardiac arrest, but we do little about it. Google MTWA for more information.
You bought today? I would have waited for a pull back but for only 100 shares a dollar here or there is not a big deal. It's not like the difference is going to buy you a lot more shares.
Gotcha on this one... I have a 100 shares here. The "drive" for me is the dividend. I'll increase my position over time, but the value of a holding does not change when there is a split.
One of the great CEO's of JNJ. He really took JNJ to the next level of growth through acquisition. A strategy that has created great value for JNJ and it's shareholders over the decades.
I'll like owning an appreciating stock (over the years) and annual dividend increases. Those are the ingredients to having a position increase in value.
Splits? I could care less whether I was long X number of shares or 2X, since it's the VALUE of one's position, and not the number of shares that matter (to me).
Check out ULTIMATE STOCK ALERTS (search them on google) and you wont be disappointed. Their last alert made me 30% over 3 days. Cant complain about that, especially in such a bearish market.
