Any idea of what happened in December 03 that caused it to drop so much at one time. I wonder if it has a chance of getting back to 25 or higher in next five years as the economy improves?
have owned it for 25 years and will keep buying it great bank .....slow n steady increasing earnings and live next door to it .....stay on board and be rewarded well!!!!!!! soon
I think they really only want to capture a fee from a settlement to make the suit go away. Nuisance suits. I may well still file a complaint against Jos. Levi who literally started a suit 2 hours after a deal was announced for MPET that had to have started off as a bogus deal. He uses his boilerplate rhetoric about company value, etc. when I doubt he ever heard of Magellan or the folks making the offer.
Anyone here ever make any money off lawyers suing a company on your behalf?
Or are they lawyers just a bunch a money sucking pigs that contribute nothing?
to me the writing on the wall says "fully priced" at 3.5x rev enues and a 15 p/e. Insiders seem to agree and have been consistent sellers recently.
Thanks for your reply. I agree with you. When do you think they would annouce an increase in dividends? Next one is March 15. Lalo
I've been a shareholder for almost 8 years, a year before they split the "old" FNB into FNB and FLB. And then FLB got bought by Fifth Third.
I've participated in a DRIP, and also used to buy and sell lots of 400 shares. Buying and selling was bringing more money than DRIP, where we just broke even (although we were at the same point several times before). We just decided to let it run and let the power of compounding do the majic. I still expect them to raise the dividend, maybe even to old 18 cents/Qtr.
Not much to say about this company. I've been a shareholder for a number of years.
Yes I like the dividend, but I'm under water on the share price.
The most interesting stat. is the extremely large short position that has been open for as long as I can remember.
I think there will be increased merger activity in the next year. With FNB book value at $9.82, I could see them getting bought out at 1.5 times book or approximately $15 per shate.
