I dont have the knowledge to understand the shorting against the PVA converts, but im certain Soros does and knows if and when it happens. yet he still bets big on PVA. PVA has the assets to have a 2-5 b mkt cap. why would they bet against it and not let it run to its true valuation.
I am always skeptical when an analyst or news letter promotes a stock. however I do agree with the articles take on PVA, as they stated facts concerning the strong position it holds. from Nasdaq- 9 analyst following PVA have a strong buy, 1 has a buy and 1 has a hold. what do the shorts see that validates their position? I question the 34% short interest. TDA indicates 27% as of 6-30 which shows a decline, but is still high. I am beginning to question Soros' intentions.
The Management Can Crush Them. One Slight News Of Merger Talks And They Will Have To Cover.
I Wonder What The CC Will Bring.!
I Do Fully Expect a dividend announcement, Which by itself will send shorts to cover.
There is another analyst with the same target pps.
This is a Killer stock, Every time it runs and I sell,

One day soon. GLTA
good stuff. does anyone know what the target price Stifel has put out for PVA ?
Penn Virginia outlook has improved, says Stifel
After meeting with Penn Virginia's management, Stifel is more upbeat on the company's outlook, and the firm identifies the company as one of its top small cap ideas. The firm thinks the company has a number of upcoming positive catalysts, including stronger than expected 2015 oil volume growth guidance and increased drilling in Lower Eagle Ford in 2H14. The firm keeps a Buy rating on the shares.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I like the potential of PVA as a company by itself. What is the likely hood of a buyout with PVA? I'm waiting to hear the direction of management when they report earnings, it sounds like PVA is taking the same route as Devon Energy and look at how that turned out. I guess my question is why would a larger player be interest in acquiring PVA?
TY. FYI, the lat long on wombat 4H is about 1.5ish miles NE of Old Moulton, which I see is in the updated presentation as well - Peach Creek. The J Berger is maybe 6-7 miles NNE of Shiner, if I did my GPS conversions correctly.
The PVA investor relations contact (Jim Dean) is very responsive to questions from shareholders.
I think PVA is know for keeping tight chokes on their wells, as opposed to EOG, which seems to take delight in reporting "monster" IPs.
5 wells filed since the 11th. looks like avg oil ~ 1110, gas ~ 907. not too shabby. Why would they use a tighter choke on the second 2 Wombat wells (16 vs 22 & 20 on the other wells 3 filed?) pressure on wombat 3H was under avg pressure for the group & wombat 4H was over avg pressure for the group. oil to gas ratios seemed similar to the other 2 wombat wells. i didnt note water cuts. just curious.
