So, superbirdrob, who is one of those "what you're saying is" guys, I said what I said, not what you said. If you don't like what's going on, get out of the market. I made money today, did you? I'm also going to make money on the dip tomorrow, are you? The way I've structured my trades, even if the deal unravels, I still win. That's how the market works. If you can't see that, then you're probably the guy I'm making money from.
Let's get real, and stop quibbling about a deal that is already done. Figure out a way to make money from it, and laugh at those who waste their time moaning over some paper loss.
You have the same rights as every other investor, to be told when the rest of the market is told. If you define that as the dark, buy a flashlight. When I was told, I made money. You didn't? #whinersshouldnotinvest
Write the SEC and tell them you think insider trading should be legalized, doesn't matter what any of us think.
So what you say is essentially the owners of the company,us,should be kept in the dark then.
I have the same feeling. I didn't buy today, I sold the Mar60 puts. I got 2.60 for them. Since I think ETP will also go lower tomorrow (unjustified, in my mind), I'll be looking to sell more Mar60, for as much as 4.00!
Just read the latest post on the IV message board and CS said the dip today in ETP price is a buying opportunity. I have not read anything but positive reviews for ETP today.
You can #$%$ Youtube and search for Jon Stewart vs Cramer. JS really dealt it to Cramer on his show and eventually got Cramer to come on the Tonight Show and admit his wrong-doing. A must watch.
For the record, I wasn't the one who gave you the 'downy thumby'! Those generally come from someone who can't express themselves, or those who can't defend their positions.
Agree about this ridiculous post about advance warning, wish I had tomorrow's news today. Lots of panic here by people that know better than management and apparently nobody has ever heard of arbitrage. Never mind that shares were lower than this a couple of weeks ago.
Of course, RGPers are getting boned. But they really have no choice. All it takes is 28% of investors to approve this deal, and do you really think they won't get the proxies they need? Quitcherbitchin, and figure out a way to make this less painful for yourself. It's going to happen (and I'm saying this as an RGPer).
Must recalc - hah! I doubt anyone is going to listen to a yahoo poster on how to buy a company!
A: It is illegal to let one party know, and not the other. The announcement went out as it should have, and was fair. Would you have let ETP holders dump their shares last week? That would have been WORSE!
and B: Nothing has disappeared. If certain people over-reacted, and sold their shares, they get what they got for buying HIGH and selling LOW. The company assets are the same, as are the distributions. That is how you value a company. Unit price is just a market opinion of value, which is why it is so volatile.
Please quit scaring the under-educated investor! It's like poking a stick at a monkey. Of course, you'll get a reaction, but it may not be what you expect...
t/o price all wrong--can't do one day closing price under these conditions--and try to steal a company
must re calc using say a 3 month avg ==results would be much different
rpg s/h should reject this proposal
Now that the cat is out of the bag and millions of dollars have disappeared from individual holdings, someone in charge needs to step up and explain why this billion dollar plan was not announced properly.
You have to be more specific. Which mgmt? ETP? ETE? RGP? Only the RGP mgmt is selling out their holders. For the rest, this is a sweet deal, thinking in the long term. Oh, and you certainly CAN save Peter by making Paul pay. You don't think we're ever going to PAY this $18T in debt, do you? I don't care which side of the vote you've been on, both parties continue to spend like no tomorrow, and after the next president (regardless of which side they are on), the debt will be over $30T. That's how the game is played. That's how I got RGP shares, by getting boned in the PVR transaction. It all turns out ok, in the long-term. ETP will be just fine, even stronger.
