He will eventually own more of the company due to the high share buyback program being executed by IBM. Warren doesn't need to use his money to increase his stake in IBM. He makes IBM use the cash generated from operation to purchase the shares back. Little math 101. He owns 79,565,115 million shares. He is in it for the long run. I predict that IBM will buyback 70 million shares a year. In 2020, total shares outstanding will be around 600 million shares. 79,565,115/600,000,000=13.26% will be Warren's ownership by the end of 2020 given that he doesn't buy anymore shares.
World GDP is about $90 trillion. Greece's GDP $290 billion. They are irrelevant in the world. I just don't understand why strong countries like Germany ($3.9 trillion) and France ($2.63 trillion) would form a union with a weak country like Greece. They should just throw them out of the union because they are dead weight.
agree with farboo ... your posts sound like you just got off the boat yesterday ..
would you agree that until very recently , IBM has been a juggernaut ?? if not , then
just go away .. that being said .. i know that IBM was financing customers' purchases as
far back as the 70's , through some of their best years .. so that kind of blows off your
theory #1 .. i stopped reading your post after that .. garce
you know all companies are required to have a PC black or a woman as a CEO during the Obama administration. Obama is going to be requiring gays be mandatory on the board of directors.
To your point eagle on interpretation, there are a couple different schools of legal interpretation that line up pretty well with the political divide. Consider "Identification with the Vulnerable" which consists of interpreting law with an eye towards helping out the poor/disabled, very much in line with a leftist agenda. Opposite that you could argue that the historical tradition (harvard) lines up pretty well with the conservative tendencies of the right. Frankly i happen to agree with you that politics should be very much separate from the supreme court but I doubt that could occur 100%
Technically speaking you could be right. The stock price and volume trend indicates the elusive targets of 125 to 140 is in the card. This stock has made many short sellers into millionaires. These include Market makers, Hedge funds and Floor traders. They have been sucking money from IBM share buy backs for years and recently from Warren Buffet. Somethings don’t add up! You would think the useless and corrupt SEC would look into such obvious and underhanded racket? It will be shame if this American Iconic company bites the dust.
various you clearly do not have a grasp on reality. "Lending customers money to buy your products is a desperation move" are you kidding me? Please go and get an education. Also while your at it please share the default rate of IBM customers, remember to quote your source, and since you know IBM Finance Divisions Customer base so well, please share with us their credit ratings. Finally, you are welcome to evaluate their IBM anyway you want, Tech company, Bank, etc but please don't expect us to believe your dribble. Bottom line: Comparing IBM debt to equity ratio to Amazon or Netflix is like comparing well....apples to oranges .
And 4 complete morons gave this post a thumbs down. What does that say about the American voter?
The role of the Supreme Court is to "interpret the written law". Where does it extend into POLITICAL ACTIVISM, REWRITING LEGISLATION, or CHANGING THE MEANING OF WORDS?????

Reductions in Force are occurring yet again and more IBMers are seeing their domestic jobs go to India where management thinjs that quality, cheap labor can be found. 5 were fired from the ATT account, jobs to India. This is a disaster known for years. You do not get good quality work from this place, but IBM thinks you can. Do not trust this firm anymore, and shareholders be careful, there is a crash coming. Revenue? More accounts will terminate contracts and ditch IBM.
It is because of its leadership in all of the new technologies for the "next generation" technologies and internet. It is happening. Just read the news releases and articles. Conventional wisdom: buy low and sell high. This is the low period and IBM is transitioning to expand its leadership in all of the new technologies. PE ratio is reasonable while this is going on and it is one of the best dividend stocks while this is going on. IBM Watson guidance is just one example of the unlimited consulting business being harnessed by IBM ahead of all competitors. IBM is and will remain the major owner of all of the new technologies. That is reflected in all of their new contracts with major corporations and major industries. IBM is the "big Kahuna" on all of the new technologies, including Watson.
