In California the market sucks. I have been sitting at open houses and no one is showing up. There are tons of homes and condos on the market and the only ones selling are the ones who are taking a huge bath. If you are 100k under priced, you can sell your real estate.
D.R. Horton calmed fears Monday about shrinking homebuilder profit margins by maintaining its outlook for this year — less than two weeks after two other top builders set off panic by warning theirs will continue to narrow. Find out here: PennystockwinnnersDOTcom

I wasn't as fortunate to owe shares before the market sell off, I more than doubled down in my position, and it has been a bumpy ride, however. I am satisfied with my present paper profits & small div.: I think DHI has a good run ahead, and the management has the credibility of professionals. One of my core holdings!
Go play HD then. I owe my retirement (before 50) to Don Horton. Starting my position in 2000 with a total sell off in april of 2006 and retiring. I started a position again in mid 2011 and have had another decent run. I wait for the sell signals which there are none currently. Horton has always been the best of the builders and they will have a fantastic 2015. You get plenty of warning with the HB's.
This will not move much and will probably sink some. I got out a year ago when it was supposed to go up and it hasn't moved since then. Now I'm up 100% in SWKS. Housing is just a waste of time, unless it's Home Depot.
The US economy is improving, not as quick as many would like to see, however, US homes compared to Canada are a big bargain, even if one takes into consideration that homes in Canada are 30% or more over valued. US homes have a lot of appreciation left to come.
Scarlet said analysis state that Horton's beat could spark a HB rally this week. They will talk about this all day. Should see 10% today due to recent 5% drop.
HB set the stage for the entire country. Let's hope the majority of HB's beat as well as DHI did. You can always count on Horton and they had some setbacks in Midland. This could reach a 52 week high this week.
We also had a better than expected New Home Starts out today signaling growth is returning to the home builders!
