Excellent call, vision_316. We should all remember that the only people who have to buy soon after strong earnings are the shorts. Institutions don't pile into the stock immediately. They bide their time and add to their positions incrementally. As for the longs who expected a quick runup and sold, sometimes you just have to realize that good earnings are good earnings. The dip, which was explained as due to "lowered projections" was really due to their own naïve expectations.
Lol look at this guy..thats funny to me. This stock showed how resilient it is, nice bounce back! If your short I feel bad for you, oh wait nevermind I don't haha. Did you even see the quarter, Delta is firing on all cylinders right now. Great environment for this company, still $50 oil, heading into the busy season for travel, they just locked in a deal with 27 nba teams, worked with Boeing to create more leg room for the players and coaches in the 757.That deal will be a significant, consistent revenue driver... This company is poised to have another strong quarter. What part of a $1 billion dollar profit do you not comprehend? This company is headed to $50 in the short term. Should've never been down after a nice quarter, but the value guys bought the mini dip. Watch and learn pal.
Reminds me of an NPR interview with Hall of Fame pitcher Warren Spahn a decade+ ago. Asked how he’d react if one of his notorious bean balls had brought an infuriated batter charging him on the mound as is typical today, Spahn responded: “Wow, it sure would make it fun to throw another one.” GLTU&TA
I flew on Spirit and it was a miserable experience. Also Southwest, not as bad, but still lacking. Everyone likes to hate the big old airlines, but DAL is the best of the legacy carriers. Employees have been and continually are given incentives to increase profitability, improve personal customer service, and beat high on-time and baggage delivery goals.
Looks like we'll all be fine. Down a little, as expected (-.25 as I write this). Give it a couple of months (and maybe just a couple of weeks) and we'll be celebrating.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
JBLU has already moved for you. How much more can it give you? Roll it all into AAPL or to NFLX for the results this afternoon and the split next week.
Market always finds an excuse to justify its action! In this case, it is selling with excellent earning but no so good projected Q3 sales. Wait a few days for the real opinion on this stock.
True, airlines may need more of a shakeout before they can start a sustained recovery. longer term i think the will be very good to you over the next two years.
