Don't like the way the markets are acting in general, CNSL in particular going into summer season. Also Not sure which way the upcoming rate hike will affect the dividend stokes.
"why do you think they might cut the dividend"
The highest estimate for next years earnings is $1.04
Annual dividend is $1.55
I'm NOT saying they'll cut the dividend. I'm just saying, payout ratios like this don't last forever.
Eventually, you MUST earn more than you payout.
guru, why did you buy more CNSL(that's $100,000.00) if you really dislike and distrust the management? Let's hope they don't pull a Winstream. The shareholders who hung on following their creative financial engineering have lost a bundle. I have been very disappointed with the performance of CNSL as well. I got involved with them when they bought North Pittsburgh Systems. Good luck with your purchase. Bob
Because the executives are greedy and want more money at the expense of shareholders!
I don't agree. My sense is that he represented the perspective of many employees. I've noted a marked decline in customer service since Surewest was acquired by the Consolidated. Just look at the stock price. It's indicative of poor management.
My dad worked for telephone company for 40 years, every divestiture, merger and change and the help said the same thing. Many of these acquisitions were small companies with stable but slow growing markets so I would say it is too small a sample to take the word of one employee.
Don't need a shortie to scare shareholders.
A 6 month chart is more than sufficient
I recently had a TV problem. The guy who came out to my house was terrific. I told him I was a shareholder and asked him what he thought about the company since it acquired SureWest. He said the company is terrible to work for; terribly mismanaged; and that the executives and managers in the company are completely incompetent. He said they might think they are smart; but that they didn't have a clue regarding running a fiber network! He also said the number of subscribers leaving and switching to a new provider was at a record high! This might explain the plummeting stock price.
