Transition period through and through. Sales got pumped up with the walmart roll out last year, and have now slowed down a bit. Management has had a very difficult time managing inventory and forecasting what the true trend is. Thats frustrating for longs that have been along for the ride, but normal and has very little to do with the underlying value. The global installed user base is worth a fair amount, but need to retrench a bit - cut down inventory, skip the all or nothing type walmart promotions and advertising. I expect the churn has been artificially high this year for some of the same factors. They should stop panicking about replacing that churn and keep focusing on adding incremental, high-value customers to the user base....
I've made most of my $ buying stocks when they were beaten down: bac, FB, appl, ge.... I'm not stupid. I've done this long enough to know that sentiment changes. What? Are you chasing all the stocks at new highs? It's time for me to start trimming those....
Read the two previous ER. That's why the stock is dropping. Is that a mystery to anyone long or short? It was outlined what measures were being taken to correct the issues that arose throughout the holiday season and into Q1. Those are being executed now, and will show in Q2 numbers and the back-half of 2014. Plus, there are more sellers than buyers, that traditionally sends the share price lower. I wish you the best in whatever position you decide to take. I just hope it's not based off a sample set of 4 of SODA's 60,000 points of sale.
Another closing low. What the heck is wrong with this stock? Maybe it has something to do with the tons of inventory I see piled @ WMT? No, it couldn't be that as drj, john, papa and trip all stated that their local WMTs sold most, if not all, their inventory. And they suggest that I "don't see" very well, or maybe my local WMTs are a fluke. Or, that I may be...maybe a little stupid. Surely they can't all be wrong can they? Yes. Maybe delusional...yes. Kind of sad though.
Yet, none of them have any suggestions as to why this stock is at all time lows and the Market hits new highs every day.
i am not understaing why are you wasting time in this looser you had this stock went to new high
now its at new all time low - and you still around what a joke
4 stars is not ok, when you are rated on 5 star scale. You continue to try to post these biased posts and think people can see for themselves the truth. Why didn't you post any of the 4 and 5 star rated comments? Wow, what a biased person you are Aqua. SodaStream Jet is rated 4 out of 5 stars with 1595 ratings. Out of that 281 ratings are 4 stars and 817 are 5 stars. Only 88 ratings are 2 stars and 250 are 1 star. So over 70% of ratings are positive on SODA. And as coldinny said before, the BDS writes a lot of those negative reviews the same way they post negative comments on SodaStream's Facebook pages. You are such a POS Aqua, go join the BDS already and be done with you.
Nobody can blame you from hiding from your entire comment and lack of knowledge. This is the identifier of stupidity. You also said "But I can tell you first hand there is very little interest in this product". Selling millions of machines, syrups, bottles and CO2 every year. So either you are short or stupid.
How do you know this for sure? Im not doubting your answer, Im just wondering how to spot this in the future with other stock picks. Thanks
I've seen you along with Seth, etc., say a short squeeze isnt possible. Im wondering why, myself? Is it because the institutions hold all the stock, which means they only cover their shorts by bits and pieces over a longer period of time? As opposed to being scared (squeezed) when the general public holds most of the stock? Thats the only thing I can think of, but I was hoping you guys could enlighten me. Im sure you guys have covered it in the past, but Im lazy and dont have time to search all the posts :) thnx in advance
Soda is so beaten down and the outlook is so poor I love it. Just like Apple at $400 when I added as much as I could. 10 million global users. $250 million in profit just from the installed base. Still growing. And Sodastream did all of this without the aid of a major partner. I remain long, added heavily last week.
Good luck longs.
Yeah you can sell it to a household that might or might not use the machine once a month. You can sell it to an office or a restaurant where tens of people drink carbonated stuff everyday. Selling to a restaurant is as good as selling it to 100 houses.
Yes, I'll take a Dr. Pete's cola with my burger and fries and my wife would like a carbonated V-8!
Sounds a little odd to me. But, if you are long this stock, and if you say it enough times, you will believe it.
