    Nice to see.........

    by threespeech Jul 21, 2014 2:31 PM

Aircraft is taking off but is worth about 10% of what automotive will do. Mercedes is doing all the talking when they develop their unique product, which ensures use in all their luxury models as they are redesigned. E-Class is the largest percentage of vehicles sold in the luxury class and is being redesigned for the 2016 production vehicle.

    Lawsuit update

    by thebardof_avoncalling Jul 18, 2014 12:07 PM

Thank you for the quick summary.

  • On June 25, Judge Stark ordered both parties to confer and prepare for a case management scheduling hearing. To do that, they had to go over a case management check list and work out the areas of disagreement.

They couldn't agree on several points. RFI's attorney has filed a joint draft of the scheduling order listing areas where they agree and disagree. There are several, but the one that matters most right now is that E-ink is requesting an early limited claims construction hearing on September 5 and that all other proceedings be stayed until the court rules on the constructions.

The constructions in this instance are how each side defines the terms "light modulating unit," "liquid light valve suspension," and "SPD film." E-ink is asking that if the court accepts their definitions, RFI will agree that they haven't infringed on any of the patents at issue. If RFI refuses to agree, E-ink wants the court to resolve the issue.

Both parties would submit 5 page letters with exhibits to the court on September 19, and each letter would explain why or why not E-ink's definitions of the claims would clear up the matter of the claimed infringement. If the court finds that their definitions would not settle the infringement issue, E-ink wants the court to rulewhether early claims construction should proceed anyway because it would narrow the scope of what the court has to decide.

RFI wants to skip all of the above. Instead, their attorneys propose that on September 8, they'll provide E-ink with a list of the alleged infringing products, methods and systems, their damages model, and the patents, with file histories, that each product, method or system allegedly infringes.

E-ink wants RFI to delay this list until three weeks after the judge decides whether or not to proceed with the limited early claims construction. RFI's attorneys informed the judge that both parties are willing to discuss the issues with him in a phone or face-to-face conference.

Coupe is now an S-Class car that has the panoramic sun roof as a standard with Magic Sky available in an upgrade. Great publicity that precedes the launch of the other S-Class models. Reviewers are giving it high praise. If you just take the higher of the two royalty rates for the SL and SLK,which is $150 you only need Daimler to sell 40,000 of the three models combined and your revenue is 6 million.

You DO get that the S63 is a limited production car? Very Limited!
None of the AMG Mercedes are anything but low volume units.
But the cars do get everything M-B has, and they are nice....and
    Stupid expensive.
So, the question is; what will be the impact on REFR?
Mercedes makes money, and has for decades. REFR....not so much.
I love Loopey Lester's comment; REFR's fate is in Daimlers hand.
Joe takes credit for success but he is blameless if REFR remains profitless.
I predict more losses. In the $1mm range.

For some reason it won't let me post the part about MSC being standard, go to SI and read Nancy's last post.

  • Of course, the S-Class Coupe would not be a Benz flagship without a tour de tech. An available adaptive suspension enables the coupe to "lean" into curves and corners for more spirited driving. The S63 goes further with a full air suspension tuned for increased handling ability. The Distronic Plus steering system, along with lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and multiple sensors and radar systems almost make the S-Class an autonomous driving car. There are even available headlights that feature 47 Swarovski crystals. Pre-braking with pedestrian detection, night vision and a standard panoramic sunroof with automatic tint control are among other premium features

guten Morgen. We here in Germany (Mercedes, VW and Audi) are very happy with the SPD smartglass that will soon become a standard of all luxury cars. It absorbs light and protects cabin from heat.

Short interest up 40,085 to 1.631 million shares. Average volume is skewed by the 500,000 trading in one day. Last two days, volume doesn't even add up to 50,000.

Pocci, this fraud just keeps rolling along. The $1 an hour "strong buy" posters shilling for this condemned taco stand just move into new phony IDs or in some case resurrect old ones that were discredited years ago.

I hope the slime ball Hawaiian John returns because he likes to post exact "SPD product rollouts." The only consistency is that not one product has ever been for sale where there have been knowledgable sales people, or an 800 number to call about this now long-in-the tooth technology, etc. This SPD nonsense has been a great scam for the insiders. I assume many children have been sent to cllege of the proceeds these slimeballs have accumulated over the years. That is a good thing.

I just wish they could find a way to inflate the price just once again so we can short it before the turn the lights off.

I hope all is well with you...

Luxury vehicle owners will buy the panoramic with Magic Sky Control. That's why Mercedes added it. They believe in their Magic Sky Control product. REFR is only stating what they 've been told by Daimler. It's all in Mercedes court now and looks like it going to be a hit.

That's where we have to agree to disagree. RFI is not what I would call a reliable source. Must have missed the SEC filings on dwarfed revs. Is near and intermediate anything like "soon"?

RFI has said repeatedly in SEC filings and CCs that automotive glass revenues will dwarf those from other industries over the near and intermediate term.

If magic sky was standard equipment, then yes we would have an idea of how much revenues. But it is not and we have no idea of take rates.........."numbers", remember. Why worry about shorts, they don't determine revenues. Selling end product with spd technology included does.

Will it result in revenues????? Every one sold with Magic Sky Control will add to the existing royalty stream. E-Class, BMW, Audi are all in the works. Shorts have a million and a half to cover if not more. The short numbers come out today. Are they covering or are they having to short more to keep it under 6?

Mercedes-Benz of Bellevue in Washington has a strong and committed sales staff with many years of experience satisfying our customers' needs. Mercedes-Benz of Bellevue presents the innovative 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class near Redmond. With the S-Class Coupe, it has shown that it can simultaneously create a wonderful design that still looks unmistakably like a Mercedes. It is a handsome combination of gently flowing lines with a blunt front and rear. The interior comes almost directly from the S-Class sedan and features a panoramic sunroof with Mercedes' Magic Sky Control dimming tech

  • As expected, the s class review session carried very little weight in regards to magic sky. One mentioned magic sky, while a few more just tossed in the roof. However, there is a lot of excitement surrounding the s class. Will it result in revs for RFI? As of now, Q2 looks like a wash. Lets see, glass industry has nothing to say about spd. Target markets have nothing to say about spd, except a dribble from auto. Architectural: nothing. Marine: nothing. Aerospace: nothing. Investment community talking about REFR: none. RFI management in hiding: again. So have to say, even though it has just begun, expectations for Q3: none. Expectations for an increase in shareholder value: none. Information the market has, "numbers", to make decisions: none. When the market sits on their hands about decisions...........well, whom benefits?

And no I'm neither a cheerleader or basher as mentioned many times in the past. Just a shareholder. Saw a headline a few days ago about a company that was upgraded because analysts "trusted" they would follow through on what the company said. Wouldn't that be a shocker for RFI investors.

Looks like longs took Monday off as well.

    It was an interesting experiment.

Not as interesting as the 2.22% drop we saw today.

    But, still, somewhat interesting.
