    Bon Tres Bien Areva

    by budthomps2727 Jan 14, 2016 8:28 PM

Hey Bud, so you got burned by LTBR and Seth. You let that scoundrel talk you into investing. Eat your losses but stop trying to drum up support for your #$%$ trade that has become a long term investment. Seth has talked about Areva and Babcock for 10 years. Nothing is happening and nothing ever will because it doesn't work. LTBR is on its last breath and Seth needs money so he is pulling out all the stops. He wrote to Areva asking for a JV. They responded with "why"? So then he filed an 8K stating discussions are underway. Read the 8k. Read how he is being "advised" by the utility industry. Every word is hyperbole as it relates to the facts. Here are the facts: Seth needs an office- a raisin deter. He can't go home to his wife everyday. So he lives in a fantasy world supported by Jim Maline who hangs around for a 100k a year or so to make it look like something is happening. Bud, you lost. Your looking for a pop, any pop to get out. Fair enough but stop reciting stuff like the history of Babcock. You look like an idiot.

  • Been a long time but for giggles listened to the LTBR business update which really should have been called- Please buy our stock as we are broke and out of suckers. The call which reminded me of Shakespeare- he doth protest too much was so silly. The company had nothing new to say. They simply wanted to draw some new suckers to their vacuous newly filed press releases which state the following: we are corresponding with big, really big players and by X date we hope to hear back from them. How Seth plays the Safe Harbor statement that precedes these calls- if we change our plans you can't hold us accountable! So Seth goes back to Babcock and Wilcox (he announced a JV with them 2 years ago that never materialized! He mentions areva too and that never materialized). How this guy is a free man is beyond me. And Jim Malone, tell me Jim is such exciting things are happening why not buy just 1 share even here are.75 cents. Talk about desperate!

    Today's World Nuclear News Article

In a separate announcement, the company said that it had entered into an initial services agreement with BWXT Technologies subsidiary BWXT Nuclear Energy to evaluate the ability to fabricate and prepare a preliminary plan for the fabrication of Lightbridge-designed partial length nuclear fuel samples at BWXT's facilities in the USA. On completion of the plan - expected early in the second quarter of 2016 - Lightbridge said that the parties intend to explore expanding their collaboration to support the development and demonstration of manufacturing processes for Lightbridge-designed metallic fuel applicable to production of irradiation fuel samples, and fabrication of fuel samples for the IFE irradiation testing.

Lightbridge has previously signed agreements covering the fabrication of test samples of the fuel at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories' (CNL) Chalk River facilities. An initial cooperation agreement signed in 2014, followed by an enabling agreement signed in October 2015, foresaw fabrication and characterization of prototype fuel test samples using depleted uranium in early 2016, followed by fabrication in late 2016 of irradiation fuel test samples using low enriched uranium.

Grae said that the agreement with BWXT provided "an additional option for manufacturing our fuel samples for irradiation testing in Norway, adding fuel fabrication redundancy to ensure that we will meet all our timelines."

BWX and CNL formerly AECL have major history together. BWX submitted an outstanding bid to take over AECL but lost out to CNL. Glad to see BWX is still in play. Maybe a little pressure on Areva wouldn't hurt.
    Froggy...any pre-update thoughts?

  • BWX Technologies, Inc. engages in government, commercial nuclear, and technical services businesses. The company operates in three segments: Nuclear Operations Group, Technical Services Group, and Nuclear Energy. The Nuclear Operations Group segment designs and manufactures critical components and nuclear fuel for the United States naval fleet; and delivers technologies for application in the nuclear industry. The Technical Services Group segment manages and operates government-owned and related facilities for defense programs, nuclear non-proliferation, and advanced technology development. This segment also engages in the decommissioning, decontamination, and clean-up of legacy radiological and hazardous waste. The Nuclear Energy segment designs and fabricates components and systems for commercial nuclear power industry; provides related maintenance services to plants; and focuses on commercial nuclear power technologies. The company was formerly known as The Babcock & Wilcox Company and changed its name to BWX Technologies, Inc. in June 2015. BWX Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1867 and is headquartered in Lynchburg, Virginia

Really Big news that needs promoting.
Hopefully today's Update will cover that.

  • Lightbridge Corporation is developing an advanced metallic nuclear fuel rod that utilizes a unique fuel
composition and fuel rod geometry to provide increased safety margins and improved economics for Light
    Water Reactors (LWRs).
The Lightbridge-designed metallic fuel rod consists of three components: a zirconium alloy central displacer
which serves to reduce centerline temperatures and allows for the incorporation of burnable poison material
within the rod; a fuel core composed of -phase Zr-U alloy (with U weight fraction of approximately 50%), and
a Zr-1Nb cladding alloy. The three components are metallurgically-bonded to one another during the fuel rod
fabrication process giving each fuel rod a monolithic form composed entirely of metal.
Not sure as to the test reactor requirements but most fuel assemblies contain around 200 fuel rods and a 1100 MWe PWR core may contain 193 fuel assemblies composed of over 50,000 fuel rods.
I don't know how many assemblies they will be inserting into the Halden reactor. CNL lab is suppose to be constructing the prototype design assembly but as I said LTBR might require many more assemblies to be manufactured. Thus the new manufacturing agreement.
