MGM shares have jumped 33% from an April 5 low and are trading well above their 50- and 200-day averages.
Wynn Resorts, with 11.7% share of revenue in Macau, was up 1.5%.
Among other leading casino companies, Caesars Entertainment (CZR), which focuses on U.S. markets, jumped 2.3%.
Hong Kong-based Melco Crown Entertainment (MPEL) climbed 3.1%.

Las Vegas Sands (LVS), MGM Resorts International (MGM), Wynn Resorts (WYNN) and other big-name casinos in China's Macau special gambling district may benefit from a report that gambling revenue in May will be higher than expected.
China's improving economy enables more tourists from inland China to visit the coastal casino resort district, heating up the action. VIP gamblers from around the world fan the flames higher.
RBC Capital Markets analyst John Kempf, who just returned from meeting with Macau casino operators, said in a client note Monday that May month-to-date gross gaming revenue is trending 20% above the average daily rate of a year ago.
Although that sizzling rate is expected to moderate a bit, he still expects 15% to 16% growth for the entire month.
Sands shares, which hit a more than five-year high last Tuesday, were up 1% in Monday afternoon trading in the stock market today.
Sands, with an estimated 20% market share in Macau, opened its newest hotel there, Sands Cotai, a year ago.
The world's largest casino gets the bulk of its revenue from Macau, a former Portuguese colony on China's southern coast just across the strait from Hong Kong.
On May 1, Sands reported a 20% pop in first-quarter total revenue to $3.3 billion on record visits to Sands Cotai and other Macau properties.
Q1 earnings per share edged up a penny to 71 cents. Both figures topped Wall Street expectations.
MGM Resorts, with an estimated 11.2% market share in Macau, rose 1.7% Monday afternoon.
MGM China CEO Grant Bowie told Bloomberg in a recent interview that he thinks double-digit revenue growth from VIP customers is sustainable.
Last year, VIP gambling in Macau fell off amid weak global economic growth and an investigation by Chinese officials into possible wrongdoing by some of the junket operators who bring VIP gamblers to Macau.
