Having owned a Samsung, Motorola, and iPhone, I can agree with that. The only issue I had when I owned my iPhone was with the service provider. The only problem is that Samsung is starting to catch up with the new products that they are shipping. Apple is great at making great products. The problem they have is that people see pushing more products out as being innovative - which it is NOT. Samsung is just re-packaging the same product with a slight change and making it look like a new line of phone. The consumer is clueless!

Well similar statements were made about housing in 2005 and mortgage bonds in 2007 by Bernanke. I am afraid that this weeks statement will be looked at the same as all of those quotes proclaiming the 'future couldn't be brighter' and 'the worst has passed' from the 1929 to 1932 period.

Fair thought process but what you leave out is important: product-service providers of cloud 4G does not have to own the transport layer hardly any more than they have to own your WiFi access point because that is IP and there are multiple competitors. That places the wireless network as only one link out of the many. Moreover, the task of delivering the wireless connectivity is capital intensive and dominated by much larger companies. Your suggestion is like saying that if you want to provide Cloud 4G you must control the desktop operating system because that is what your stuff runs on top. Before jumping to conclusions, Google has crafted Android OS as open source, free, garnering contributions to its development from Samsung, HTC, Amazon etc. Android has gained in popularity partly because it is NOT OWNED in the traditional sense. Sure Google was smart in spending the money to get it developed, but that cost is paltry compared to the revenues they enjoy for sitting at the helm of an open development.
Wireless infrastructure is 'only the means to an end', not the end game except as the function it serves, that of a broadband IP transport... in essence, a utility service. That is the basic understanding. Beyond that, the company had to understand that while its position is as a core transport layer of the overall Cloud 4G service-applications pyramid, the field of development has progressed to smart-distributed interface to the user... and to fail to involve the user as part of the infrastructure deployment is grand lunacy.
