US soldiers slaughter unarmed people including women and children,, aprox 100 people... I had hopes US killing women and children was a great RARITY,,, I'm starting to have my doubts.
At the end of the day don't we all want the release???????? Frank is simply a cheerleader, that at the very least keeps us in the open. I love hearing him. Use it as comedy relief if you will, but at the end of the day who cares????? This whole thing is getting very interesting and seems to be swinging in the right direction.
yep...and sooner or later it will all come crashing down...and the bottom feeders will be on their own...
Great post, but I think autocorrect messed it up. You likely meant "Buy and LOSE. Spinoff/Merger will never happen, more carrots dangled though!"
hjeffer, is there a time limit that SDRL would have to wait if they did want to bring NADL back in? 2 years after or what about being sold to another company?
I did the math of Rosneft buying 30% @ 9.50
30% of 241,100,000 shares would be 72,330,000 shares times 9.50 = 687,135,000 and we currently have a market cap of under 360 million...Things that make you go HUMMMM =P
First short was in the 80's, second batch was in the high 70s. Thinking of covering half here and let the other half go all the way down to the teens. This stock will never be a winner unless somehow they are able to charge for memberships to read and write reviews. No chance of that, since restaurant reviews are everywhere and free. The long term value of this one 4-7 years is $10 per share at best. Probably even lower.
This was the easiest money I have ever made.

Having said that, you cannot deny how well it worked in Baltimore..
Don't know who you were responding to, pyro. I have some select posters on ignore, only auditing once in a while to see if their mode has changed.
Maybe sk_'s query really should be expanded to what do posters think of the similarities of 2015 to 1999 and 2000 following the big long runup of the late 1990s.
Yes, a lot of money was piled on top of the long run to 2000 by staying in the market the last 18 months, but many of those investors were caught in the downturn from March, 2000 onward, and they surely would have been content with their gains through mid-1999. The after-glow of large gains created a nonchalance that the market would stay fixed on a positive bias, but then Y2K hit.
I am surprised no correction, even for technical reasons, even for market manipulation reasons, has occurred now in many many months and quarters. That makes me nervous, and at this stage of this long run from 2008, I'd rather play the bumps and drops very, very, very carefully and very, very quickly inside the larger bubble.
To be fully invested now, especially narrowly in one sector, is not something I can risk. Then again, sk_ is younger than I am and perhaps has a couple more market cycles to play.
Investors here have been grousing about the drop from $85 to $67 and in the same breath talk about $100. That seems like a lot of talking out of one#$%$.
I doubt that even Swks and Avgo will withstand a market downturn of 20% no matter how good the sector promises remain intact. I also doubt that Swks and Avgo will shoot up more than 20% on an improbable market rally of another 20%.
So, I am very risk-averse here and am glad to have caught the swoon and the recovery back to reasonable valuations. Beyond that is for others to risk at this stage of the market cycle.

Seriously, you never go to the gym. "It Burns" is such a common workout expression. Feel the burn? Burn out? It sounds like you need to go to the gym to feel the burn.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
You must have bought in before the oil & gas purchase like I did. Although I share your sentiment, I still like this company's prospects in the long run which is why I made this a long term investment. The recent rise in share price is also correlated to the assets that the company owns which are world class. Investing in individual equities carries risk. Let the buyer beware. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
