    ARNA's waves

    by iago4466 Feb 22, 2013 11:47 PM

Your post at the end of such a well thought out post only serves to keep it at the top of the pile. Thank you, really ! For I may have missed it. Since you seem to be angry with a post that had no "Villians" I can only surmise that you couldn't read that many words into a paragraph without it becoming confusing in that old noggin of yours. You might try reading cereal boxes or comics for that matter to give you a bit of self confidence. Start off slow and work your way to reading compound sentences before you jump into a message board like this.

  • Fuzzi/Lobster seriously, do you ever read back what you writing?
    You should try it.
If you read it back you can hear what's wrong, I don't mean the subject but the "Hospotch" of your post.

At my cost basis, they are paying 13.2% and 9.7% respectively. As I said, I have had them for a long time. Look at BBEP, currently paying 9.4%, ALDW pays 8.2%. Of course, do your own DD. Of course, these are MLPs and LLPs, and complicate your taxes. Distributions paid are tax free, but reduce your basis, so you take a big capital gains hit when you sell. I'm retired, so I'm looking for current income. Taxes get complicated with MLPs, too.

  • Looks like we're off to the races, with no turning back from these low prices.

  • Mauritania will see some drilling action in Q2 by Tullow Oil; up to four wells. The Irish firm said that its work during 2012 to build in-country infrastructure will support its high-impact exploration program.

The drilling campaign is designed to test new deeper plays in the offshore Mauritanian basin which have not been tested by previous exploration wells. Three of the four wells are scheduled to be drilled in 2013 using the West Leo rig which has been operating in Ghana for Tullow. The company believes that there is significant follow-on potential if any of these wells prove to be successful.

Tullow has continued to build its equity position offshore Mauritania, following the award of the new C-10 license in 2011; it also completed farm-ins to the C-6 and C-7 Blocks. The C-10 license was awarded to cover the exploration areas previously covered by the production sharing contracts PSC A and PSC B. Extensions were also granted to the discovery areas of the PSC A and B licenses which contain the Banda, Tevet, and Tiof oil and gas discoveries. Tullow has increased its equity in all of these areas to over 60% and is the operator.

In November 2012 the Banda field was declared commercial and it is planned that the field will supply gas to a new local power station, subject to completion of a suitable Gas Sales Agreement. Discussions are now under way to put in place the commercial agreements that will underpin the project.

It might do just about anything, and that's the only honest prediction anyone can make.

Generally the market has not been kind this earnings season, especially to growth companies.

my personal favorite post ER reaction so far was PAY's.

  • California is one of the Blue states holding up the others in terms of net taxes to Washington. Texas is the only Red state on that list. California, New York, etc, and Texas are subsidizing you, not the reverse.

California should be contributing even more, but in fact is does need some reforms. One of the basic ones taking electoral redistricting out of the legislature's hands has already happened. The political extremes on both ends are a pain in the neck and pocketbook, and there are too many regulations built up over the years.

But California has more venture capital spent in it than any other part of the US. It is large enough and has enough of a diverse economy to be a country itself. And, you will be happy to know for us, California's Monterey Shale (Google the name) is thought to have more shale oil and gas in it than all the oil shale found in the US so far. So we could really be a Pac Rim country and do very well. That will make a lot of money too.

Clearly you have no idea what Communism actually is. None. You should, it's a complete disaster.

Why should we support you as we are and will be doing? Why should we bankroll such hate filled cranks who only want us extinct?.

  • from IDC PC Review: February 2013
"IDC predicts that the imminent end of life of Windows XP will accelerate PC refreshes in the enterprise segment, driving significant growth of commercial PCs in 2013."
    from Digitimes article
"Viewing that Windows 8 has fallen short of expectations in stimulating sales, global PC sales are expected to remain slack at least in the first half of 2013, but may rebound after Intel launches its Haswell platform in June and Microsoft possibly lunches Windows Blue in the third quarter, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers."
    ------------------------------
Logitech 6 months stock potential boosters
-Selling Harmony Remotes and Alert Security systems which will bring cash and cut cost and improve margins to Logitech (also focus on new mobility and PC ranges)
-Possible Selling of LifeSize which means more cash, more cost saving and improved margins for Logitech (LifeSize 500+ employees in three office in US, Europe and Asia)

-New Logitech ranges for Windows 8, UE Music & Mac/iPad & for Business to gain popularity and global reach to potentially offset the weak PC market

-2nd half with new expected models of Ultrabooks, Convertibles with Haswell processor & Windows XP end of lifecycle could lure consumers and enterprise to come back to refresh their PCs
    ----------------------------------
From my trip to Dubai and visiting many stores and playing with many form factors PC and tablets and smartphones

I saw the special offers on Windows 7 Ultrabooks and Notebooks a lot of heavy discounts, while Windows 8 Ultrabooks still price positioned in the $900-$1500 range while saw all over a place at almost any store an Asus attractive Windows 8, 11" Touch screen notebook sleek & lookalike like an Ultrabook for just $400 (i think this is the future of Notebook)

while didn't see at all any AIO PC, nor Logitech UE Music range nor new Windows 8/Mac/ipad new accessories ranges on shelves

i could see the iPad mini is a winner while ipad & 10" tablets top brands are bulky and heavy when compared to ipad mini which the comparison is clear when display side by side
    -----------------------------------------------------
My Hypothetical take in 2013 (i may be wrong)

-Logitech big news short term could be around
    -divesting part of its business,
-new tablets desktop class ranges that convert Tablets to a PC for creation, communication and m.media consumption
    -PC gaming range
    -PC-Tablet for Business space

while 2nd half 2013, it will be about PC-Convertibles come back with Haswell CPUs and Microsoft Windows 8 update, XP end of life Cycle with new dedicated accessories like Audio, input devices, Wireless webcams, etc

At the risk of writing too much I just want to add one more thing, which is the more I think about it the more I feel the ratio of people using MJNA products recreationally versus medicinally in Colorado probably would not be higher than 1:1 since according to Dixie's FAQ you cannot actually get "high" off of the oils or edibles...ok good night everyone :)

  • in all fairness, its most likely never going to be that bad again but they will still bleed money every qtr and that will eat away at anr, eventually, hopefully very soon, most big holders will realize that its a sinking ship and bail, i suspect that already happened a while ago, they have been slowly dumping and would explain some of the unjustified upgrades a couple months ago, i wouldnt be surprised to see some downgrades as they most likely are looking to reverse positions...some of these longs see these tiny pops and get excited but its just short covering or day traders taking a bit..what they dont understand is that big money sells on the way down not at the top and buys on the way up, not on the bottom..this is what makes the market, down trends continue because big money is unloading , it doesnt happen all at once, when they are done unloading or going short, then the bad news comes and then you get the big drop, short interest is still only 15 percent or so, so im guessing they are still just dumping, when they are done thats when you will see the short interest getting higher

Oppeheimer is part of the problem not part of the solution. These guys have not change and they believe that what got them to be succesful will keep them succesful and they feel that they are right and everyone else is wrong making the legal department the center of innovation which will keep the stock droping. keep your expectations low
