The FTSE has been trying all week to do what it did today. Even with the Dow, DAX etc going up we had been badly lagging. I think it's all to do with this BREXIT stuff because we just haven't been keeping pace with everyone else. I've picked up a few longs today.

You're doing the right thing by looking for bargains and not just jumping in feet first on a whim. It's the only way to keep ahead of the pack. The committed bulls are going to get hammered, just as the committed bears are going to get always.

That new CEO sounds like a real tyrant. lol. Some think that's the only way though and never change. I've met quite a few of them in my time and they always get pushed out in the end. It cause3s a lot of upheaval until they do go though.

They've only made 6 X files episodes. I wonder if it's a tester to see if it's still popular?

I'm out on the booze tonight. My sister's 25th wedding anniversary and we're all going out for a meal.

David Gest gone as well. He was very popular in the UK because of his BB and jungle appearances and he seemed a very nice bloke, albeit a bit strange. The sad thing is that he had to leave BB early due to illness and it was obviously leading up to him dying. My worst nightmare something like that because I've been to the doctors last week with an unexplained pain in my chest and there was nothing found. She said it could have been a slight infection but to go back if it gets worse. It'll get worse when I keel over one day when I'm out walking the dogs. Then I'm stuffed.

A cracking result for Leicester and would have been better if Man U had given spurs a game. I hope Leicester beat Man U 5-0 at Old Trafford to win the premiership. a grat result for Man C as well to reach the semi finals of the champions league. I hope they win it for Pelligrini because I think he deserves it after the way he's been treated.

I don't seem to be very interested in the cricket these days. Maybe a good ashes match will change that. lol

Who's this Grim? ...... This shouldn't be happening. It doesn't make sense........ Every bear in the world. lololol. I've lost count of the number of times I've read from 'experts' that the ftse will struggle to get past 6200 before the big falls start again. I've been buying the dips since 5600 and every dip up from there. Not a short in sight for me. lol I think 5600 was the bears March 2009 and we know what happened from there as the shorters and sellers got clobbered all the way up to new highs. We might see a pullback from here as it looks very overbought a slight adjustment and we'll be off on a charge again. There's still too much money sloshing about and any tightening they say they're doing isn't really tightening.

Isn't it strange how it's all gone quiet with Isis and syria. Maybe you're right and they're starving them of attention. That would help calm the public as well. No news is good news.

Thomas, sell your shares and hit the road. It's tiring to see on every yahoo message board how terrible the company they own stock in is.

Gregory P/gimp, Is that the game where you put the spherical object into the metal ring ?

  • Weggie, You should try using different aliases. That way you wouldn't always have to post messages as a crazy right wing nut job.

    steve the beaver,
"No proxy rally this year likely that hedgefund support for the company has dwindled as well"

What the heck is a "proxy rally" ? I have been investing a long time and have never heard or seen of a proxy rally. And hedge fund support ?

What evidence do you have that Geron has or ever has had hedge fund support ... or that the support has changed ?

It sounds like you make investment decisions based on concoctions that come out of your head. Institutional ownership of Geron has steadily increased over the last couple of years.

and now Ronnie Corbett - I am giving a wide berth to media stuff for a while Moon, I am not able to take all this negative stuff with people from my childhood shuffling off this mortal coil. The more well-known people there are, the worse its going to get, and sometimes this communications revolution is a drag as we get to see it all.
Not long to anniversary time for our board Moon, how do you wish to celebrate? lolol
Since we last posted, it would seem Man Utd have gotten themselves out of another fine mess with two one-nil wins, and bizarrely have a chance of 4th spot! Wouldn't it ne ironic then, for Man City to finish fifth, but go on to win the Champions League and claim that fourth Champions League spot - stranger things have happened this season, though I am still expecting the wheels to fall off the Leicester juggernaut - think a draw at Sunderland and Spurs beating Man Utd this weekend will shake it up and put fear into Vardy and co.
What a T20 cricket World Cup Final! Was actually very happy to see the Windies win it in that style. To bludgeon 4 sixes in a row in the final over was astonishing and a real shot in the arm for cricket over there in general. Don't think they will care a jot that the Windies ladies won the female version lolol.
Shares are still going from strength to strength, possibly by loads of oil shorts being closed and driving the market upwards - though fell away a bit in pm trading on the Dow, have now reached highest portfolio figure ever, adjusted for new store openings and Easter break obviously lol. How are you playing it now? Bit stagnant for you?
Not seen Line Of Duty, don't really watch much TV off the menu, more going for Freeview A La Carte channels, there isn't much on BBC and ITV that interests me anymore.
Just an idea re ISIS, starve them of the oxygen of publicity, but yeah, think they might escalate it to ensure they were on the medias lips.

I'm very happy with Mark. He has done wonders to expedite the commercialization of the NSS. You don't seem to have a clue.

I would have loved Leicester to have won it at Man U. That would have been brilliant but it was great the way Chelsea didn't buckle against Spurs. There's no way Chelsea were going to let them win that match. lol. I think everyone was a Leicester fan that night. I was watching the snooker but had one eye on the Chelsea match. Not that I wanted Selby to win. lol. Like you say, it gives every other team hope but I bet it'll be a long, long time before we see anything like that again.

Prince hadn't been well for a while. Just a bit under the weather. I wonder if it was a heart attack brought on by not being well? There are too many popping their clogs around my age. No wonder I'm getting paranoid.

I see their looking into the conduct of the same police force during the miners strike. They should look into the police during the fox hunting protests as well. Some of them are just nutters. You get them everywhere and the police are no different. You just need a few bad apples and it tarnishes the whole lot. A bit like Line of Duty. lolol.

I've stopped all spending now Grim. No 3d tv's or the such like for me.Looks like you dodged a bullet with the dvd player. I would have been caught with that as I'm not savvy in any of this new technology. lol. There's just nothing I want now. The house is all but finished, I've bought a new car and I can't even go away on a nice holiday because of the dogs. I'm going to have to start putting them in kennels for short spells to get them used to it. They just follow me everywhere now though and they always know when I'm going out and expect to go wherever I'm going. Taking them around the shops just isn't going to happen though. lol

I've got a bad, bad feeling about the FTSE. It just can't hang onto any decent gain. It's as if the big boys are driving it up just to sell off every day. I can see a big, big drop if BREXIT happens.
