I was speaking to someone yesterday who was at the match on saturday and he said Sunderland were all over Man U. I don't think they can sink any further and it's only because of mediocre teams outside the top 4 that they are where they are. It looks like everyone's protesting about the cost of match tickets. That's been long overdue. £91 to watch a Chelsea match. It's just laughable.

Wherever there's money, there's thieves and scallywags. I hope they catch whoever took that voucher and make an example of them. If you can't trust people where you work, who can you trust. It was a good job that you and Mrs Grim were away at the time of all that happening. It would have been mighty stressful for her if she'd have been under suspicion.

I've been sorting stuff out for the arrival of my car on 1st march. It's all been registered, taxed and insured so I just have to pay for it when I pick it up. It's always exiting getting a brand new car even if it is money down the drain. lol. Still, I've been the poor man of the street for a while with my old cars but now I'll be top dog and will have to start looking down my nose at some of the bstds. lolol

The markets have been great. It's big divi season. Better known as bear hunting season. lol. The iii board is ridiculous for bear talk. Some of them must be getting their faces ripped off with the shorting they're doing. Like I say, the bottom is always zero but the top can be sky's the limit. We may not have seen the last of the selloffs but I prefer to buy all the way down from the top than selling all the way up from the bottom. Anyway, we need a bit of a pullback to get those daily charts back into a better position for the bulls. We're getting too overbought at the moment so a decent little pullback should see us plough ahead again. Knowing how this works though, it could be that most people have missed the boat and they'll have to buy higher up than they'd sold out for.

,Where are you going this year to see Coldplay? Not Paris I hope. Still a lot of trouble over there with terrorists. Don't they ever play in Jersey? everyone else seems to.

I see you're still going to your northern soul nights.Does Mrs Grim go with you or just you and her cousin? Make the most of getting out and about while you can because the older you get the less you want to do. I'm happy going out for a couple of pints and a couple of meals a week these days. When I think of what I used to do. It's downhill all the way from here.

I picked up my new car on Tuesday and drove it up and down the street a couple of times to make sure everyone saw it. lol.. It's a cracking little car though. It's not it's turn to go out until next Tuesday though. It was the roadsters turn today to have a run out and it'll be the other Audi on Saturday..They've all got to take their turn. lol It's daft having all these cars really but they're all paid for and the old cars still have plenty of life in them.

I've been doing a lot of decorating the last couple of weeks and it's coming to an end now. I just have to lay some laminate flooring and the bottom end of the living room is finished. The rest of the living room needs doing but I'm having a rest now and may start that in the summer. There's been a lot of chance in my house over the last year or so but it needed to be done.

My ladyfriend's dog had to be put to sleep on Monday. He was 17 so had lived a long life. I'd known him for 13 years. He'd been dying over the last coupie of weeks and she'd found it really difficult to make that decision but when I went through on Saturday I could see that he couldn't go on like he was any longer and I think she realised that. He was a lovely dog and a lot of people were really upset but his time had come. Mind you, I'm sick and tired with all these dogs dying. My two dogs and now him. It's just a hammer blow every time.

Ex-McCain Aide Will Back Clinton Over Trump

    May 3, 2016By Taegan Goddard103 Comments
Mark Salter, a former top aide to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), says he will support Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump in November as both candidates appear close to locking down their parties’ nominations, MSNBC reports.

Said Salter: “Basically, I think she’s the more conservative choice and the least reckless one. Trump’s policy views are like some drunk’s rant. If he tried to do anything like he says he will, we’d have no allies, a lot more enemies, and more of them with nukes. Finally, he’s unfit for the office, too, temperamentally and morally, a narcissistic bigot.”

yup, working again. Tired to post on Leap Year day to wish you Happy Leap Year Day on 29th February as I had only been alive for 12 of them, and was totally locked out of the board! Was a biggie for us At work, the FA resigned on the same day the FD walked out of the door for the last time. Cue the sound of jaws dropping to the floor. Doesn't look or feel good.
stocks have been chopping around as much as storm Jake, but chopping upwards generally - March is historically a bullish month if you believe the past has any bearing on the future?
Watched a cracking movie last night called "Crash" from 2004 - what an astonishing cinematic treat it was - never seen it before, and it grabbed best picture Oscar, so they will know how Leonardo feels at this point.
Poor old Leicester, injuries and results are just starting to go against them - SPurs for the title then? At least a certain A Johnson didn't ply his trade for them! Cue 10 years of misery in prison, glass in food, and goodbye football career. I have little sympathy for him.
SO how are you lives going? A little quietly at the moment I guess lolol. Anyway, hope all is well

I know it was "only" a friendly, if there can be such a thing vs Germany, but what a win Moon!. Especially being 2-0 down, to come back from that away from home in the World Champions back yard is some feat. Here's hoping England can build on it versus Holland tomorrow, however, that game is bigger for another reason, and hope the England fans observe the minutes applause after 14 minutes.
What a storm last night - it brought down a section of our fence in the back, such was the force, and it wasn't a flimsy affair. Couldn't sleep last night for Katie making a racket. Even less happy about this naming of storms as it feels like there are more now than I remember in years gone by - 11 of them already since last Autumn. Hope you weren't about and about in that or testing out your new car?. Did you get much damage up your way? Think it was mainly down South. Easter started great with Friday 13", but now we are struggling for food on the shelves with the boats not getting in for 3 days. There is a lot of upset regarding Commodore and the number of times the ferries are out of action - if it isn't the weather, its mechanical problems, or they have smacked it into the side of the pier, or gone on strike, and they have an exclusivity deal with our Jersey States, so unless a Force Majeure comes into play, we are stuck with them for a couple of decades, or pay £20m get-out clause - great negotiation, but think it will cost much more in lost Holidaymaker revenue and goodwill.
Looks like Chris Eubank's boxing son has got himself a name already.
4 days until 3D bluray comes to town
Did you watch Happy Valley Moon? Thoroughly enjoyed that, and have now downloaded the first series to see what that was about, and loved that even more -hardly watch main channels any longer so sometimes little nuggets like that almost slip through unnoticed. Maybe you didn't notice it lol.
Downloaded the Eagles greatest hits - do you like them? Bit too easy listening for me, but healthy

LEICESTER Moon - Leicester f@@@!!g City are Champions! Can you even believe I am typing those words?. What an achievement it is, in our lifetimes, from relegation fodder this time last year, to beating the big money clubs at their own game - it gives hope to all the smaller clubs like Portsmouth, and resonates with every supporter outside Tottenham, that there IS still romance in the game. All hail the Leicester fans who backed their team to win at the bookies - 5000-1, not only have they seen their team do the unlikeliest thing, they have had their lives transformed forever with a windfall to boot. It has filled me with joy and hope Moon - what do you reckon on it all? Not bad for Mark Selby either, winning the snooker World Championship 10 minutes after his beloved Foxes had clinched it - I hope he gets to ride on the team bus - what a party that is going to be!

Blimey....long time no hear Jax. The big 50. That's a nasty one. It's all downhill from there. lolol. Grim said that he'd missed you. I think he mentioned something about a hurricane and had to leave Sydney early. You've got rubbish weather over there. lol. Pity you missed him though. He would have liked to have seen you. Living right on the harbour? You must have some money.

Surprised to hear you're not trading. You used to love your warrants. I never did understand them. lol. I'm still plugging away with my spreadbetting. I won't give that up now. For me, it's the safest way to make money. Bit by bit. No big sixes out of the ground. Just singles off every ball. lolol. That should be written down in a guide to spreadbetting. I think everyone is depending on the central banks stepping in when things start to look as if they're going belly up. They're in too deep now and will just keep putting money into the system whether it's QE or under the table. There's no other way. Everywhere is bankrupt. Just print money to oblivion. Could take a hundred years for oblivion to arrive so they'll just keep doing it. I just look at Venezuela. Everyone at the time, about 2 years ago, was saying how great it was that their stockmarket was up 400%. Now it's a bankrupt country on the verge of default with double digit inflation. The government just printed money to buy stocks and everything else. We'll all end up the same but could be years away yet. Hopefully I'll be long gone.

West Ham are doing well. ust on the fringe of the big money clubs. If Leicester can show such improvement then so can West Ham. I really want Leicester to win the Premiership this season though. Just to prove to the big spenders that it can be done with hard work and teamwork. We need more teams like that.

Gutted Moon - Johan Cruyff, the best player I ever saw gone. what a player, manager and forthright character who knew his own mind. That Cruyff turn was one of my favourite moments in football ever, and look up on youtube a penalty he took with Jesper Olsen at Ajax - nobody else had thought to do that before, and Neymar and Suarez recently repeated it at his second home of Barcelona. That Dutch team was superb, and he was the best of that team, though thought that Johan Neeskens was very close. Getting very fed up with icons disappearing this year.
Glad your car is going well, and hope you get your laptop to keep going for many more years - your right about having things now and wishing we had them years ago - but I wish I had my ipad and ipod back when I was a kid, but they had not been invented then. I love on a basic level being able to buy films or music without having to trapse to town in the pouring rain, instead having them instantly to enjoy.
Do you think they should stop showing the images of terrorist attacks in the media? In a way, it might help if they ignored it, instead of giving air-time to ISIS cause and free publicity to persuade other Jihadi's to join in the carnage. It hasn't helped stop it by blanket coverage, so why not try a news blackout on these events, like in the second World War?
FTSE wasn't great today, but seeing Next hit, and BHS problems explains that!

    Another liberal mythe destroyed

    by springer_1994 Apr 7, 2016 10:16 AM

I think the data in the article support VT.

While GOP turnout was up compared to 2012, Democratic turnout was down compared to 2008. (In 2012 Obama was running for re-election so there was no Democratic primary.)

Voter ID laws disproportionately affect low-income minority voters, that is, voters who are more likely to vote for Democrats. That's why Republican legislatures pass them whenever they can. The usual excuse is to prevent "vote fraud" but there is overwhelming evidence that there is vanishingly little actual fraud in American elections. "Vote fraud" is a fig leaf to cover vote suppression.

Republicans know that they are outnumbered by both Democrats and Independents. So there best shot at winning is to prevent as many potential Democratic voters from getting to the polls as possible.

In the minds of many Republicans--including you, I suspect--poor people and minorities shouldn't be allowed to vote anyway. For many Republicans, limiting the franchise to land owners, as we did in the early days of the Republic, would be just fine. Since that's not legal or likely to become legal any time soon, the next best thing is to discourage Democrats from going to the polls.
