I'm not a huge fan of the typical 5x5. Home runs (while sexy) seem overvalued while doubles and triples are undervalued. I also don't like wins for pitchers.
Kicking around the idea of a 6x6, but far from set in stone. What do people think of this (and are there any other suggestions?):
R, RBI, TB, OBP, K, nSB
WHIP, K, K/BB, S+H, ERA, QS
I guess having WHIP, K, and K/BB creates some redundancy, but people don't complain about R/RBI/HR on the offensive side. Thoughts?
That's good to know. Hold all 3 until someone gets desperate and offers way too much for Correa
Go fishing for a haul. You'll have leverage over a half dozen teams in your league with below average production from their SS
Why? Martinez has a better K ratio. I know Darvish is coming off injury but prior to injury he was a top 3 pitcher. McCullers has an innings restriction attached.
Nobody should ever project a year like last year. However, he could definitely be the top SP again. The Ws should be there, Ks will be there. His ratios were already elite. I think 18/220/2.5/0.9 is a good projection and could be the top SP.
Never ever, ever, ever, ever...
...ever, ever, ever....
...keep a pitcher unless it is mandated by league settings or it is a points league that wildly favors pitching.
Don't believe me? Ask anybody that held on to Tim Lincecum, Cliff Lee, or Yu Darvish.
It's because I think he's reached his statistical ceiling, from a fantasy perspective. Additionally, even though he hit 22 HRs on the road, his other stats weren't all the great. For a guy that's great at home and average on the road, I can't justify a top pick.
Both Bryant and Machado are younger. And both carry dual eligibility. Similarly, both fill 5 Cats. Whereas Arenado doesn't. I don't think Machado has much room for growth, statistically. However, being younger and SS eligible with SBs puts him ahead. With Bryant, I think his ceiling is much higher. I also think he can sustain success longer. But if I were going off of just last year, then yea, Arenado should be higher. But I'm thinking long term.
wow, that's a terrible roster for a 10 team league. something doesn't look legit if it's that bad with not that many teams in a dynasty league. on top of it most of the players are well beyond their 30's.
