    Q1 Losses are Massive

Didn't Bill say things were getting better???

    He keep lying.

Pumpers keep believing despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Bill Zollars is the worst Executive in the history of LTL Transportation. Using a Magic 8 Ball would yield a better decision making process.

    • TA was here yesterday. Don't miss him too much. He finally wore out waiting for yrc to bk. He used to chain post like his fart clone, tx.
But after years of wishing , he moved on with his life.
      blow me

    • I sure miss TA. He had excellent posts.

    • May as well wait until Q4, 2010 is announced February 4th before speculating too much about Q1, 2011.

Excellent call by ta66? He is venting after a poor showing by YRC after last years first qtr?
This is pretty weird with last years threads and crazy comments by serial poster TX. This board id getting sick

    • furthermore, I think that these cost cutting measures combined with increases if freight will inspire people that need jobs to work harder and more efficantly. The others that are used to just dogging it will work harder just hoping to get the work out of the way however this work will just keep comming. All of a sudden way way better than expected earnings. HUGE UPSIDE SUPRISE!!!

    • Zollar is not the only one in control. The other managment has been told to cut costs. I think that this will work, better than expected.

    • ***Let me get this straight... You say they have an OR of 115 and say they loose more money the more thay ship. Yet, complain that they aren't shipping enough. You cannot have it both ways. Pick one!!***

No, that was Ken. This is a volume driven business. They either need a lot more freight or they need to cut a TON of cost to breakeven._______________________________________________________

i did say something similar. my point is that yrc is losing money. if they get more shipments they lose more because they are handling freight at a loss. if they get less shipments they lose more because they have shown they don't cut costs as fast as volume leaves...

losing of the freight is especially bad as it hurts their liquidity when they lose Accounts Receivables to sell....

it's just a matter of time

    • Let me try to help you out.

***Anybody who said, any company's stock was going to tank would have been right.***

I said it LONG before anyone. People who accurately predict stock movements are usually hailed as geniuses.

***Weather was an issue that hurt revenue and added cost. That is for everyone, correct?***

Yes, that's for everyone but YRCW is out of money so it hurts them MORE. If you are ABFS and have 150 million in the bank you can survive easier.

***I don't think he used the word aggressive***

Uh, yeah, he really did. He lied when he said it. I guarantee it.

As for the rest of it, most carriers are struggling, no doubt about it but other are FAR more financially stable. More cash equals more staying power.

Whether Zollars is running the show or not he's still the mouthpiece for the company so therefore he says stupid things.

He promised positive EBITDA in Q2....no chance
He promised YRC National would average 47.7K shipments per day in Q1...no chance

The list goes on and on and on and on....

    • You may just want to consider Zollars' track record of accuracy in his predictions.

      He's not too good.

    • I dont think Bill Zollar is worst.I believe that he made bad desisions in paying too much for Roadway and buying Usf Holland and over expanding. And then the economic downturned really put YRCW in the hole. But the caption has to take responsibility for the ship.
