YRCW is laying off 2500 drivers. Some of their road boards are loaded with drivers who are not working. They can layoff without much consequence. They, YRC National, use hog boards (mostly); that is, the senior drivers can go out and come home, and get another load ahead of the lower seniority driver who hasn't cleared the board yet. I used to have a bid to Camp Hill PA--New Penn. Glen Moore is hauling alot of that freight on all lanes, now. They pay well. And it is being done (I presume) to decrease costs. As you know it is more expensive for any company to pay workers who have benefits. New workers if they have benefits are less costly than those who have seniority.
