oldfart!!!! Target and Walmart are easy to work with.YRC simply traps ltl shipments on trailer,send closeout notification and drop that day. All drop and hook no live unload.No info on rates, not my area.
That is all great Phil, but those trap trailers do not load themselves. Much of that retail business is loose freight. Even if it is picked up on a pallet it is often broken down at the first cc to use as top freight. The claims on retail freight is higher than average, and you forgot to mention that the carrier pays the customer to unload the trailers. It's called an unloading allowance, and that is in addition to the high discount and FAK rating. I also remember Wal-Mart holding on to full trailers for a while before they'd unload them. The bottom line is that YRC National is not making a profit on Wal-Mart, Home Depot or Target business.
