    HW patents

Started to read HW patents, some are interesting.
6960325, Nov 1, 2005 Indirect method of converting coal, tar sand and peat moss into liquid petroleum products. Claim is for Skeletal iron catalyst in F_T process that experiences little attrition and conversion of syngas is higher than other method. This catalyst is recycled in the process. In SSL or standard F_T process precipitated iron catalyst are fragile and breakdown into fine particles that are carried into liquid products. ---one over South Africa--

6190542 July 4, 2001 patents the fabrication procedure for making skeletal catalysts developers are:Zhou; Jinglai (Shanxi, CN); Lu; Yijun (Shanxi, CN); Zhang; Zhixin (Shanxi, CN); Li; Guohui (Shanxi, CN); Dong; Linyao (Shanxi, CN); Wang; Hairong (Shanxi, CN); Zhou; Peizheng (Lawrenceville, NJ); Lee; Lap-Keung (West Windsor, NJ) ----no wonder we are doing demonstration project in China ----

58519448 by Chuang, Zhang, Zhou ( have a nice ring to them) from HTI Oxidizing volatile organic compounds, VOC, in small concentration present in water vapor for pollution clean up.---catalyst can eliminate nasty odors as experienced in NJ without having to burn them off--

This one is interesting 690600 June 14, 2005. Stable carbonous catalyst with micro pores for use in making alcohals or fuel using T-F process. ---just vary pressure or/and temp and you get booz or fuel.

Others have to do with either cleaning up pollutants or fuel conversion. In totally convinced Hw is a quality intellectual property company that just started to get their IP into action.
I'll post some more next time but now I'm out to get couple of beers.

    • And I beleive Kirk said HW would be getting revenues from ethanol project in '07 at around $70MM

    • Actually, they are building a h2o2 demonstrator plant right now, and that should be online in the 2nd Q of 06. It will produce "several thousand metric tons" of product per year.

I was going to sell 1/3 of my HW position to buy others but I am holding for HC3 upgrader news.

    • Thankfully things will not happen "as far as you (I) can tell". By throwing around lies half truths and dispariging comments we are supposed to believe you? All you cite are vague generalities and speculation.

How is it that the section 29 is a scam? It was voted on and passed by the House and Senate, passed into law when signed by the president at the time and administered by the IRS. Sounds pretty legitimate to me.

    • [This tax credit revenue has been very, very good to HW. With this money they purchased solid building material cos, paid off good portion of their debt and did some great research in synfuel.]

HW has used the tax credit responsibly to
make significant progress in synfuel research.
I agree with you that the effect of Section 29 on HW's earnings will be reduced to zero before 2007. Furthermore, in an environment where energy is on the minds of everyone, it may well be that Section 29 will be extended. The impact of such an event on the stock price will be enormous. The diversity and synergy of HW's enterprises guarantees a bright future for a company devoted to energy independence and growing shareholder value.

    • "Recent filings, CCs and IR have been very vague on any specific business plan to exploit this upcoming explosive market."
It seems reasonable to me to be vague till process on which to build a business is protected by patent. HW just patented indirect F-T process on November 1, 2005. This process is superior to Sasols and is to be used in China and India in coalfields and in North America on oil sands/shales.
Section 29 already dwindled away to 21% and will be reduced to 0% when their CTL kicks in. Hydrogen Peroxide production in Germany should be on line by end of '07. It looks like HW planed well for their "new business" to come on line when milk and honey stops flowing from Sec 29 at end of '07. If you read HW filings and CC's then you should know that each division is profitable and does not rely on S. 29 revenue. This tax credit revenue has been very, very good to HW. With this money they purchased solid building material cos, paid off good portion of their debt and did some great research in synfuel.

    • CONCRETE

    • "Not really, your fishing for greater fools to buy your worthless money losing RTK stock. If you were you'd read the reports and listen to the CCs."

Not really. As far as I can tell Headwaters is poised to fall flat on their face in the race for domestic CTL projects using FT technology. Recent filings, CCs and IR have been very vague on any specific business plan to exploit this upcoming explosive market. Your inability to answer this simple question also illustrates your ignorance and pumper status here. Once the Section 29 tax scam revenues dwindle away where will Headwaters next turn to? China? LOL

    • "While I don't disagree with you just recall where Headwaters was at 5 years ago. Rentech appears to be in the early stages of a similar liftoff. "

Go to Vegas they give comps for gambling. This is investing follow the earnings. Wait until there are some.

"I'm simply looking for clarification of Headwaters current business plan in this regard given the dissolution of FT Solutions. "

Not really, your fishing for greater fools to buy your worthless money losing RTK stock. If you were you'd read the reports and listen to the CCs.

    • No matter the size of the company the objective is to make money. If they don't they are a charity giving money to nonproductive people.

"If rtk can produce clean burning fuel "

If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, wouldn't it be a Merry Christmas?

HW makes money and lots of it more each year. RTK doesn't.

    • While I don't disagree with you just recall where Headwaters was at 5 years ago. Rentech appears to be in the early stages of a similar liftoff. People would be foolish to discount the potential of the domestic Fischer-Tropsch clean coal conversion projects at this juncture. I'm simply looking for clarification of Headwaters current business plan in this regard given the dissolution of FT Solutions.
