The morning they announce the trial results the stock will be halted almost immediately for the first 30 minutes of trading. I work for a small cap nasdaq company and we sent in our Q2 earnings release to nasdaq and they called immediately since our earnings forecast was significantly outside of analysts range letting us know our stock would be halted right before our earnings hit the news wire. This is the first time I have actually see nasdaq halt a stock before any price movement. This is done primarily to give investors an equal share to react to the news. So my guess is, as the results get sent in, if the trial results meet endpoints or exceed expectations, the stock's next trade will be shorts forced market buy orders putting this thing into orbit.
Since MNKD's corporate headquarters is located in Valencia, California, their normal practice is to hold their quarterly conference calls after hours. Not in the morning. So while I cannot say you are right or wrong, I personally do not think they will halt trading the next morning, if they follow their normal practice. Why, because the news will already have been out all night long. Just my opinion.
