FDA allows nicotine, tar, and other toxin delivery via lungs and now we have national reffer madness. Lungs must be an effective drug delivery method so what is the problem with beneficial drug delivery via the lungs. You are dealing with a potentially deadly disease and to lose an occasional lung or two (so far Afrezza is safe) would be no big deal. Cost/benefit is important. AFuckstein and the boys have been hammering INSM also to little avail as their bear raid this week failed. Their efforts here will fail too.
HHHmmmmm, who said this?
I think it’s given some people pause to think about delivering protein drugs by inhalation; but you know, there are so many advantages to delivering drugs by that route I think we’re going to see more systemic inhaled drugs. And I think that probably it’s easier to deliver those drugs as dry powders than it is to try to get them to dissolve in HFA...

this is beautiful. Haven't thought of this as a retort. I wish you were responding to those panelist that will be speaking as if our world if full of perfection and nothing out there impacts our lungs, so, we can't possibly approve this drug until we know perfectly every answer........however, at the same time, the panelist have been around the block and they know the realities of our world. I'm torn........tues. Tues is almost here.
