I read there were 20 or more bids submitted for Alphaville. It struck me that some of those bids might actually include offers to buy GFA outright, and that we may read some morning soon that, surprise, management is selling the whole enchilada. Anyone have any thoughts about that possibility?? Anything in the news or any market activity that would make that scenario impossible, i.e. that any of those 20 bids could not be for GFA outright instead of just for Alphaville? What are the guesstimates about price per share for a sale of GFA today? Certainly higher than Zell's bid in the $7 range ln Feb of '12. This company looks is like bloody shark bait --- are there fins below the water surface circling???
it's certainly a possibility but based on past record, management would be looking north of 10. keep in mind the Mexican builders have been absolutely slaughtered. the Zells of the world feast on scraps at below replacement cost prices. if there are fins out there, they are likely wading in Mexican waters.
