Customer relations not good, read this!

I have friends that booked a trip 5 months ago and were charged a fuel charge. They will not remove the fuel charge from the bill. They still want all of the money up front. Two months later they do away with the surcharge on new bookings. They will not remove the surcharge on my friends account. They said you have to cancel and rebook at the prevailing rates at which they added in the fuel charge. They also have the option of still adding in the fuel surcharge just before the cruise. At that point you can not get a refund on your cruise. The cruise is not until summer of 2010. If I were them and thier party of 20 I would be cancelling the cruise. They wanted my family togo also, but when I looked into this. My friends surcharge story. They told him they would not remove the surcharge and only give a credit. It is not what they wanted to do and the cruise company would not work with them. I don't think this was good business. They will not take it off the bill. You have to pay it. People want to know what they are going to spend. Not drop $1,500.00 on the group the month before the cruise. They are now looking into other plans. With customer services like this, the company is going to lose more and more business. It is the principle of taking it off. They should have just taken it of the price of the cruise. Not charge them for it 2 years in advance and say "Oh we will give you a credit. They just want to keep the cruise cost on the book to make them look stronger. When in return it is destrying customer relations. He is a crown and anchor member with many cruises and they still will not satisfy him.
