Since the 9-11 incident they hide behind "safety" & no longer allow you to purchase a bottle of wine (or liquor) at a port of call and take it to your room. It will be held for you and given back to you at the end of your cruise. I think this rule is for the safety of their margins and not my safety, by getting me to buy their over priced rum and cokes. I was considering a family vacation, not a college drunk fest, but this is a little too much for me to handle.

    • Cruise lines have never let you buy a bottle of booze and take it to your room, at least not in the 15 years I have been cruising. What is over priced? More than the cost of bringing on your own bottle? Get real--the price is comparable to any other bar or restaurant. Last, if you have just a little ingenuity, you can sneak your own booze on board like I have always done. It is simple and fun and just naughty enough to spice up your evenings if you know what I mean.
