    Stock buyback...and the real message

is?...BR is currently undervalued and they are
going to have lots and lots of free cash next year from
much higher than expected earnings? Is that the
message management is wanting to convey to its
    shareholders...Any thoughts...thanks...

    • lineshack, they are doing what every responsible
company in this sector should be doing: giving
consideration to the three ways under their control to prevent
the fourth way of maximizing shareholder value
      occur.

The three ways are to buy back equity and increasing
leverage, look for exploration opportunities which are
capable of meeting the company's return criteria, and
looking for cheap energy limping around on Wall
      Street.

If they don't get going, the fourth alternative, a
takeover, is likely to occur, as mentioned several
      times.

With energy prices now throwing off considerable cash,
even with hedges, we should see new highs before
President-Elect Bush is acknowledged as such.
