Some European countries prohibit short positions on stocks. I wish the USA would do this.
I posted this same title on this board a while back. I was told by a responder that there really is nothing wrong with taking a position that a company might "go under" and betting that a company's demise might happen. Okay, fair enough. It's not something I would do because it seems negative, but to "each his own." But some shorts can't stop there. Many seem to go out of there way to spread innuendo and misinformation. Not waiting -- in a passive way -- for a company to fall, but actively becoming part of the process. Sorry, but that's just slimy to me.
To be part of a tearing down process - to run counter to efforts to build up and make progress, is not what I want to be involved in. Seems slimy to me. Wait passively and if a company falls, then it falls. But cheerleading a fall, trying to spread confusion and twisting facts to "help" the demise.....slimy.
Alternatively shorting can help stop slimy market manipulators performing pump and dumps on companies that should not exist by bring the truth out into the open ... much to the annoyance of the shorts as is self-evident.
Now you're really showing your STUPIDITY - Shorting keeps the market balanced and prices in check. If not for shorting a company like PRKR might be selling at 50+ yet they have NO PRODUCT, have NEVER made a profit and have lied to the public for over 20 years. Greedy lying J Parker makes Bernie Madoff look like an honest man.
Ah scammie, now that you know Q stole technology from PRKR and used up it to make money off technology it stole, your so slimy for wanting the thief to prevail. Sounds like Q is both greedy and a big bully....and that's who you back? Slime ball.
