Actually here in Nevada we do have "none of the above" as an option. Unfortunately a few years ago when none of the above actually won for one of the state court seats they still installed the person with the highest number of votes. This election should be interesting as we have a local question about banning brothels in the county. Some of the new people who have moved in do not appreciate some of our local ranches and want to get rid of them. Already one or two fights at the debate on the issue.
<Given that the egos of those running for office prevent "None of the above" to be placed on the ballot, it seems that the Libertarian candidate might be the best expression of sentiments for one of the poorest options the voters may have ever had for the presidency, at least in my lifetime.>
I heard the Libertarian presidential candidate on NPR recently. He was asked if voting for him or Nader or other third party candidates was not the same as wasting your vote. His feeling was that the only wasted vote was the vote cast for 'the lesser of two evils'.
This is a clothes pin election. Put a clothes pin on your nose when you vote, because both major party candidates stink.
How come there is no WITHHOLD option on the ballots as you see on proxy statements?
Given that the egos of those running for office prevent "None of the above" to be placed on the ballot, it seems that the Libertarian candidate might be the best expression of sentiments for one of the poorest options the voters may have ever had for the presidency, at least in my lifetime.
I empathize with those who will write in "Mickey Mouse".
We're not a nation of idiots. The idiots are anyone that would consider voting for that lying scum Kerry. Did anyone see the great white hunter trying to pump the Remington automatic shotgun? What a fool. Who does he think he's fooling? Democrats, I guess!
There seems to be a surplus of idiots in the U.S. We're nitpicking about a man having an extra-marital affair, and denying it, all the while bush is bombing the hell out of an innocent country for no good reason, sexually abusing the citizens while they are incarcerated, turning a large financial surplus into an even larger debt, and the media focuses on a candidate for using the word "lesbian". Oh yeah, we're a nation of idiots.
Most of these disasters occurred because we have people like the Bush family in Government - bankrupt the country, special deals with oil interests, conflict of interest......We need to remove the cancer and get REAL Men back into office. John Kerry is the MAN.
Strong indicators Kerry to be next President.
IMO, corps very nervous. Kerry policy would turn economy toward deflation. Taxes would increase. A lot of job cuts. Iraq will be a mess. Foreigners will be setting policy for America.
I am holding cash and waiting for opportunities.
Well, your comments about the stock market should John Kerry get elected provide clear encouragement for investors because the same concerns arose in 1992 regarding Bill Clinton. And then we had 8-years of 15% annualized growth in the stock market, way beyond the other 2-term presidents of the last 60-years, which I recall are Truman 8%, Eisenhower 10%, and Reagan 11%.
