Raymond James' corrected 1099's are coming out March 28. Two questions: Why did LNCO take 10 weeks to figure this out; and, 2) Why did LNCO not issue a statement cautioning shareholders to hold off on filing their tax returns?
Still waiting on a return phone call from LNCO to get answers to these two questions.
Fidelity says that they do not issue 1099s showing mlps that you are supposed to go by the K1 not one MLP I own is liste on my 1099 from fidelity. also I thought LNCO was not an mlp. Therefore would it not be a dividend ? Please excuse my ignorance.
As a follow up, Wells sent my amended 1099 today. LNCO was removed from the list of Qualified Dividends (per the original 1099) and reclassified as a Return of Capital non-dividend distribution (based on input from LinnCo).
