Who wants to comment at managements view on "elective" contributions to FFEG. Do you really feal it is elective or do you feel pressure to contribute from you managers??
It always upsets me when my manager says it is 'strongly' encouraged that I contribute.-

"Management level or above" equals management level or executive level. Thank you very much. And ole retired railroader here. Been out over 13 years. Just love it. But I still get home sick a little. You know, missing all those all night messes, etc.

Apparently after you are at UP for more than a year you are deemed management.
I never knew "optional" was defined as "strongly encouraged" until I began working at UP.

Not sure who your manager is, but he/she is not evaluated on how many people in their group contribute. They are probably uninformed about how the program works. My advice: just don't contribute and wait until your boss has the nuts to approach you about why you didn't. My guess is you'll never hear about it again.
Also, I can say that most of the people I work with do not contribute.
