Clinton inherited an economy in its sweet spot. The setup for the economy that he likes to claim as his own came from Ronald Reagan. I do not believe that neither Clinton nor any other Democrat could have laid the groundwork for an economy which produced the statistics you cite. Republican control of congress after 1994 assured that he did little to screw up what was in place. Its hard to build a great economy when your main uses of political power are class envy, tax and spend, and the creation of burdensome regulation.
