This is my first post on any Yahoo board. I've been an observer of the SFI board for some time now and truly appreciate all the helpful discussion. I'm long SFI for the long term because of Fundamentals but am taking advantage of this unique opportunity to increase my holdings with swing trades. The past 3 trading days saw a bounce off of the 200 day moving average. Technically, it looks as if we could pass through that average in the next few days. Any idea how much of a pop we could see as a result of that huge technical hurdle? Discussion welcome.
no my platform has a window for trades, the share bought are placed # shares, price, order, etc. Set up and ready to be sent with the click of a mouse. A split second can mean the difference between profit and loss, more profit than loss, less loss, etc.
When you say "place the order in que" you're talking about what you do internally, right? You're saying you get your order in line on your pc so that you can pull the trigger instantaneously, WITHOUT showing your willingness to do so to the marketplace until you're ready... Am I reading you right, Ed?
Yep. Stop loss cost me 2 thousand shares the other day. Triggered when I wasn't looking and by the time I got back, price was back up. I brought back in, since I'm not a trader and always seem to get screwed whenever I try to trade the technicals. But, it seems no matter how low you set it, it gets triggered. I will never place another stop loss. Just watch the stock and decide to sell when I want to sell. I'll use technicals to tell me good times to buy and intrinsic value to tell me when to sell.
I bought 18,000 shs this week..I like this stock..
I also bought 10,000 shs of GKK based on recommendation
from this board along with some research I did.
I am up nicely on GKK.
I am not recommonding anything. I had
all my money in BAC but we had a huge runnup so
I am diversifying,,,I still have 19,000 shs
of BAC.,,,oh well,,,My retirement is going nicely..
Nor wealthy,,,but I am trying now that I have the time.

We break 5 in 2 weeks if SFI comes within cents of break even. 10 cent green takes it a little short of 10 bucks a share IMO. Not so sure SFI take out 20 in 2 years, but could.
Thanks for your post, Ed. I was hoping you would reply, as you appear to have a great deal of accumen in technical analysis. I've also appreciated posts from Quad, TMA, Peil, and recently Trash Can. Hopefully I'll be able to add to the discussion in tangible ways as well.
