tho, i have sold about 25% of the positions i built in sfi prefs. some capturing gains well over 250% with an average across shares of around 175%. decided to add a bit more diversity, not that sfi would go bad. luckily, most of what i sold was in ira accounts.
now looking for the 'next big thing'? ecking out smaller returns through slightly discounted prefs & debt is sluggish.
Yes, the stock and preferreds - starting around 4 years ago, were great (with some downtimes too).
But what happened today? - something probably leaked. 6% up for SFI-D, up to $24 - it cannt be withour reason or/and rumour.
Good Luck to everybody!
My percentage gain would be higher, except that I have continued to add shares even as recently as a few weeks ago. Long ago I decided I had enough invested in this one company, but occasionally I can't resist buying more shares.
The Market has been good to me. I've even made big gains on closed-end Municipal Bond funds, while drawing tax-free interest over 7%.
