Depends on what Mr. Caldwell means by the following;also keep in mind that the stock was on CNBC and a stock selling under a buck isn't normally featured on CNBC.
As to the pattern; we are experiencing higher lows and if we can punch through 1.11 we can add higher highs to that pattern.
Advanced Cell Technology, Inc. (OTCBB:ACTC), applying proprietary human embryonic stem (ES) cell technology to the emerging field of regenerative medicine, will host an investor conference call on Friday, January 19, at 12 noon Eastern, to discuss recent progress and events with respect to the Company's initiatives to develop stem cell-based therapies for a range of diseases and conditions.
During the conference call, William M. Caldwell, IV, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Cell, will provide an overview of Company activities and news, and will address investor questions. Topics he will cover include the Company's recently announced federal research grant from the National Institutes of Health.
Mr. Caldwell will also comment on the impact of the current political climate on the advancement of stem cell based science and technologies. Some states, including California and New Jersey, have enacted legislation to foster stem cell science. Additionally, the newly elected governor of New York State, Eliot Spitzer, recently advocated passage of a $2 billion 10-year bond initiative for research and development, at least half of which would be earmarked for stem cell research.
I really don't think that the CC alone will move us that far - also applying the "buy on the rumor sell on the news" idea, I dont see anyone buying cause we are "reiterating" the same news. Unless obviouly if somehting is revealed - for instance if Caldwell mentions Senate vote counts, assurances of enough votes to avoid a prez veto or perhaps strategic partnering, cash infusion etc - also remember the IND that should be filed this year, there could be a long shot chance of that being moved up.
Whatever causes us to move up will consist of developments working in concert with one another. I do find it interesting that the Nature article and Single Blastomeres has not been mentioned much - I think a prez mention of that would be interesting.
In a nut shell: hope that new news comes out tomorrow, if not we stay idle - I suggest tuning into CSPAN to see what happens there.
WILD CARD: Deval Patrick Gov. of Massachusetts (ACTCs home) waking up and keeping his promise on stem cells, and acting on it - before NY, NJ and others pass us (Mass) in the race to be the leading stem cell state.
