Before I get labeled a pumper let me provide my reasons and my target price.
There has been a lot of hype during the last few days but many of us have been here for awhile and done a olot of DD before today.
The reason I invested here was the technology, the patents, the programs and the scientists involved.
Now without getting into past history for those that are new here the reason the stock is so low is that the company almost went bankrupt due to lack of funding. This was one of the original stem cell companies and probably one that took it the hardest under Bush.
In the last 5 months (read the news) they have reduced debt, raised $6 million in funding, so they are taking steps.
But the real value is the technology. Actc has over 400 patents/applications. They license to Gern, Btim and Isco. These non-core licenses for Actc are core technology for them and they need us.
We also have a new Joint venture and 3 valuable programs ourselves RPE, HG and Myoblast.
Compare us to Stem or Astm and others. Yes we have more shares outstanding but the market cap for Actc is $22 million compared to $120 or $60 million that they have.
Check out their patents, their programs, their scientists. We should be there but because of the funding we continued to drop. Now with our recent deals and JV partner funding is not an issue in the short term
That is why I feel we will see our market cap at $50 million very soon. That is $.15 in the next few weeks. After that $.30-.40 is not out of range.
Now I base that on nothing changing just the market valuing us where we should be.
If you add in all the other funding opportunities (see my previous post) this could easily double my targets to $.30 short term and close to $1.00 in a few months.
This company is a leader in stem cell research. People are just learning that and you are just getting in on the ground floor.
This was a $7.00 stock at one time with a 52 week high of $.32.
2009 will be the year of the stem cells and we have the patents, connections and scientists others wish they had.
Why do you think Gern, Btim, Isco, CHA biotech all pay Actc royalties. They need our technology. Now think if we license that technology for millions a year what are we holding onto for us.
On Jan 20 a new admin takes over that is pro stem cell. A new FDA, new HSS and now a new Surgeon General all pro stem cell take their posts. The ban will be lifted. Stem cells will be politically correct and funds and partnerships will flow.
The share price may take a few dips now and then but it will rise to $.30 and beyond very soon.
There are two reasons NOW for holding on.....
1. The longs who bought last year are holding on to gains between 200-400% they will pump as needed to protect their profits.
2. Anyone who bought in this year, is most likely down 10-40%. If they have a large number of shares, they can't divest without losing MUCH more by HAVING to sell at the bid. Classic volume trap that causes large holders to stay put. Investing 101.
