    Very nice !

I cant beileve that people in Wash worry about embryo research , " to protect life " , but I can see on tv partial birth abortion , where already formed child is destroyed like in some alien horror movie . All this "protection " are paid lobby for big pharma , jmho , who dont want to heal you, just to keep you coming back for more and more procedures .
It looks atct found more money with private investor , than from funding
The usual process for getting an NIH grant takes about nine months, Tabak said, and the average stem cell grant has totaled about $375,000 a year for five years.

375 k for 5 years is not too much , we can collect more , right ?

Also found this..But DeGette and Castle, a Delaware Republican, said they would not take on the Dickey-Wicker amendment, which prevents the use of federal funds to actually extract the stem cells from human embryos.

And this ..Not everyone was happy. "Obama opens door to human embryo farms", the National Right to Life Committee said in a statement.

"If an embryo is a life, and I believe strongly that it is life, then no government has the right to sanction their destruction for research purposes," said Kansas Senator Sam Brownback.

Michael Werner of the Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research, an advocacy group, said states such as California and New York that had established their own stem cell research groups stood to gain from the change.

What about partial birth abortions in eight-nine months ladies and gentlemans ??? That is genocide for me .

    • people in Washingotn worry abou everything fuck them.

    • Regarding the below quote, doesn't this affect ACTC as the method of harvesting embryonic stem cells does require extracting a single cell from an embryo, though without harm. Seems to me that wording in the amendment indicates you can't touch an embryo period. Am I wrong?

    • Partial birth, sick! Thank goodness I could find a Stem Cell play I beleive in, both financially and morally.

    • Coincidence?

      Quote from ACTC PR.

"Advanced Cell Technology, Inc. (“ACT” or the “Company”) (PINKSHEETS: ACTC - News) announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement with a life sciences fund (the “Investor”), which has offices in New York and California, under which the Company has secured a $5 million credit facility (the “Facility”)".

Interesting. Offices in CAL and NY. Hmmmmm
