Colorwonder from the Google board posted this email which is a nice little update:
When do you plan to announce if the Stem Cells submitted by Advanced Cell Tech will be allowed grant money from NIH?
Also when will you announce the decision as to redefining acceptable lines for funding?
Hello Ms L
The NIH Advisory Committee to the Director will be discussing the ACT submission regarding line MA135 on Thursday, June 4, and will consider making a recommendation to the NIH Director regarding the eligibility of that line for use by NIH-funded researchers at that time. Other submissions from ACT are in various stages of review—in one case, ACT has been asked to provide additional information to NIH and so we are waiting for that information to be submitted.
In several other cases, the ACT lines from pre-blastocyst embryos cannot be reviewed as they do not meet the terms of the current NIH Guidelines. However, we are finishing our analysis of the 1,200 public comments received in response to the proposed change to the NIH Guidelines regarding the definition of “human embryonic stem cell”. We hope to announce a final decision soon—this will be posted on the main NIH stem cell website, http://stemcells.nih.gov/. If the Guidelines are revised such that the ACT lines from pre-blastocyst embryos meet the a revised definition of “human embryonic stem cell,” those lines will then be reviewed to see if they meet the ethical criteria under
the Guidelines for the informed consent process.

"If the Guidelines are revised such that the ACT lines from pre-blastocyst embryos meet the a revised definition of “human embryonic stem cell,” those lines will then be reviewed ..."

Various stages of review and the "pre-" don't qualify yet!
Rumit, why would you post likely manufactured nonsense like this?

Investing is not about getting together with 500 or 700 "members" most or all of whom say nothing but glowing nonsense about each other's personal dreams on ONE or another stock, like penny ACTC....
The FDA, CDC, NIH, etc. would NEVER respond to any email like this --- giving a specific answer to a specific question, concerning a specific STOCK/company, on a specific submission, on any specific DATE..... and sign of:
What is the average age of these people, whether from Yahoo or Google board, that engage in these nonsense, really?
I don't mind people making PERSONAL remarks or observations --- negative or positive --- but when people actually TRY to manufacture nonsense and pass it off as real or official communcation?
Total childish nonsense.
In desperation and in desperate need for group comfort, people give a 5-star rating on this?, but would gang up to put 1-star ratings on any and all critical messages being analytically critical of a certain aspect of a company's business, scientific endeavors, etc?
Makes me giggle at the childish nonsense of the average Google and Yahoo "investors", who actually blame each other for "flipping" or "day trading" a stock, like ACTC, that sells around $30K to $200K a day?, at 7 cents or less?
