    from a liberal

Hey look I often vote Democratic....the reality is with the expiration of the payroll tax ...Obama essentially raised taxes on the middle class....altough in fairness he gave it to us a couple of years ago....anyway...I believe we should have extended the holiday and not extended the unemployment....but thats just me....reward the hard working middle class.. doesn't matter we will still work hard guess is on the anniversary of the executive order March 9 2009 we will get a redefinition implemented but what do I know

    • Hey Evil,, it all had to be done,, what gets me though is that a little less than 50% of the people get a free ride and I don't think that is fair to the folks that pay taxes and work,, IMO some folks need to pony up and recieve less entitlements,,
I know that what I see personally is a small subset of the country overall, but, I see so many able bodied people that dont deserve entitlements and they have scamed the system to fk us that provide for these jerks,,
It is just not right and not fair to the rest of usa,,

Yeah, those subsidies that big oil and other large companies get should be eliminated, and paying large farm corporations not to plant crops is a joke, and the 10 largest corporations paid only 9% in taxes last year. GE for example paid no taxes in 2010, just like Mitt Romney.

"For those unaccustomed to the loopholes and shelters of the corporate tax code, GE's success at avoiding taxes is nothing short of extraordinary. The company, led by Immelt, earned $14.2 billion in profits in 2010, but it paid not a penny in taxes because the bulk of those profits, some $9 billion, were offshore. In fact, GE got a $3.2 billion tax benefit."

    • Bull, It is a tax on the middle class. It's going to hurt but we have a huge defecit to pay down. I would have liked the SS tax to be extended above the 113K limit and the 39.6% bracket for 250K and above, but he had to get a deal done. I'm glad Boehner survived the lunatics last night. Now he will have a little more power to do what is right for the country.
