That will pee off the big mouth in here that's in Farm country and Turn a lot of those red states blue...
There are at least 20 Senators and Congressmen that receive those subsidies and you guessed it Red States...
Yeah, Christine Todd Whitman, former Republican governor and quitter as well as the EPA head who lied for the Bush administration saying the air at ground zero was fine, has one of those "farm assessments" on her New Jersey property. While a person in the small downtown area near Whitman's country estate pays $8000 on a acre and a half, Whitman's farm welfare assement on 150 acres is somewhere around $500. Whitmans entire family history is REPUBLICAN and her husband is a private equity investor on Wall Street. Whitman claims her farm raises "firewood". Meanwhile, the roads she lives on are dirt and require excessive maintainence from the local municipality. All of the wealthy in her community live on these dirt roads so they can ride their ever #$%$ horses on them. She and almost everyone who lives in this sequester area of this town have attended private schools away from the "poor" masses. This is who the Republican party is. Wealthy, out of touch with the masses, and in control of what happens to the masses. AND, this is why they've lost elections over and over, the MASSES are now taking back our country. The Tea Bags are a mere schill front for these corporate losers, they do not represent nor have they acted on behalf of WE THE PEOPLE. Is it any wonder why people keep saying PAY YOUR SHARE. Food stamps help people eat, FARM WELFARE helps the rich GET OVER.
Quoting from an article
""◾Farm subsidies are intended to alleviate farmer poverty, but the majority of subsidies go to commercial farms with average incomes of $200,000 and net worths of nearly $2 million.
◾Farm subsidies are intended to raise farmer incomes by remedying low crop prices. Instead, they promote overproduction and therefore lower prices further.
◾Farm subsidies are intended to help struggling family farmers. Instead, they harm them by excluding them from most subsidies, financing the consolidation of family farms, and raising land values to levels that prevent young people from entering farming.
◾Farm subsidies are intended to be consumer-friendly and taxpayer-friendly. Instead, they cost Americans billions each year in higher taxes and higher food costs.
Lawmakers would be hard-pressed to enact a set of policies that are more destructive to farmers, taxpayers, and consumers than the current farm policies. For these and other reasons, organizations representing taxpayers, consumers, environmentalists, international trade, Third World countries, and even farmers themselves have united around the shared conclusion that the current farm subsidy system is failing and in dire need of reform during this year's reauthorization."
Would love to see you "starving" and because our company is in oil too, I would like to add "freezing to death" , and of course no room and board for you either.
Jerk, user, loser :-) :-)
I am very aware of commodity prices..Farmers are banking these days and getting record prices for their product...I am just making the point that farmers generally vote Republican and in doing so they would like to see the deficit cut and programs cut,but put them up front and center and give them what they voted for and cut them 1st and then go for SS and Medicare... After all they want less government in their life they can at least show good faith and allow themselves to be 1st on the chopping block.... Fat chance of that happing... Republicans in Congress and the Senate voted no cuts recently... This is the Hypocrisy I see ..They are 1st on the Goverment nipple along with Oil companies and scream about everybody else ..Including old ladies on SS who put into that fund which was solvent and their money not tax money and the government siphoned from the last 20 yrs and basically made a mess of something that wasn't theirs and should not be an issue...
I See your fan club is alive and well! Envy is a terrible thing to waste !!! It's amazing how they just don't get it. Eliminate the farm subsidies and watch the food prices rise. Even the old Smear would have understood. They may have to reopen Smear's old club house for your fans!
