Hope Dr Lanza isn't slipping away from his duties at ACT

With this new task he's taking on as Editor in Chief of BioResearch Open Access, along with Adjunct Professor at Wake Forest Unviersity Institute fo Rergenerative Medicine, and the many papers and books he publishes, when does he have time for his duties at ACT? I guess the only thing we can hope for is that they know for certain that the RPE cell treatments will work, but what about the cell-derived platelet program? Is that a sure thing, too?

    • Keep, I think Dr. Lanza can handle all of it and more. I think his brilliance and stubborn determination are what keeps ACTC going and now it will get even more exposure by a man who can explain it best. Have you ever know certain people that just seem to do it all, whether it's through deligating with oversight or whatever, they just seem to get a lot done. I once saw Lucille Ball give a lecture and she made so much sense when she said "if you have something you need to get done, give it to a busy person, busy people know how to use thier time and get things done". That could not be more true. Have you ever worked with some whiney crybaby who is alwasy complaining about how much work they have but when you really look, they aren't doing squat? Anyway, I think Dr. Lanza is a jewel. We couldn't ask for a better person to be on this team, face it, he heads the team and I'm sure he motivates everyone. One day we'll be reading about Dr. Lanza getting a Nobel Prize.

    • Keep, you obviously assume that Lanza is running day-to-day operations at the company with a staff of 30 persons? Well, all that is done by Rabin and for that Rabin gets 80% more in remuneration than Lanza. Lanza is a science animal, and not a business guy like Rabin or even like Scarlett-Huh bozo team at Geron! I think he did the original research and development of blastomere technology and the RPE cells. These two are marvelous products of his efforts need to be widely accepted and that is where his efforts are now.

If he was that business-savvy, ACTC wouldn't have been bogged down in all those financial litigations. But, that is for the board to see. And, I think, if ACTC is sold to or merged with any major pharma, I bet lanza will not be the chief executive. . He is not made of dime-a-dozen MBA timbers you find all across the American corporate world full of greed for money!! He is and will remain to be a scientist for his life. You surely have misunderstood him.

    • Lanza is an idea guy. The day to day work is done by others. He may actually get some new ideas from the stuff that comes over his desk in the new position. Maybe he will get so distracted he forgets to sell the next time it spikes.

You are really, really, really bi-polar. Oh, and you are an idiot. That is all.

    • I look at it this way. Think how many years ahead he is on everyone else for this field. He has to wait for the red tape to feed through so hopefully everyone else catches up. He has time and since he probably dislikes poker...thank god...he is using his time to improve the field for everyone else.

    • Keep,
You are quickly becoming very predictable, and might I add, TIRESOME! A royal pain in the #$%$!!

      E-E-Y-O-R-E!!! "Oh.....dear"!!!!

Yeah, Dr. Lanza is jumping ship right on the cusp of success! Seriously, dude! Take your meds!

    • Instead of being negative about it, why not view it as a positive development? If he's been asked to take on this type of an editorial role, he certainly has gained the respect of his peers.

I view this as another way of dispelling the arguments of the bashers who claim that this is all a scam and there is nothing to the science. If it wasn't believed by a great deal of respected people that there was somethig to the science, he would not be asked to take on such a function.

I made this same argument when we started adding the newest members to the Board of Directors. Those people would not have lent their names to a company which is destined to fail.

I think this just lends more credibility to Dr. Lanza and the company.

      • Right on, Gaeltown!! How many posters can really comprehend what you mean?!! Just ignore idiots who do not grasp this!

      • "Instead of being negative about it, why not view it as a positive development? "

Asking a direct and pertinent questions is not being negative, in fact I stated that they may already know the cure for AMD & SMD works.

"I view this as another way of dispelling the arguments of the bashers who claim that this is all a scam and there is nothing to the science."

I think most of the science bashers left awhile ago.

"Those people would not have lent their names to a company which is destined to fail."

No, but they aren't Fortune Tellers either, and they know this process could still fail, but they really beleive in the science. And throughout the history of science there have been many more failures than successes, but people don't quit, they just keep trying over and over again, until they get it right.
