Congratulations to Dr. Robert Lanza of ACTC, voted "MOST INFLUENCIAL ON STEM CELLS"
According to Terrapinn's Life Science Division, Dr. Robert Lanza of Advanced Cell Technology is in the TOP FOUR of the 50 selected stem cell scientists selected worldwide! Dr. Robert Lanza is a brilliant, dedicated scientist and LOYAL Advanced Cell Technology representative. We have nowhere to go but UP.
ACT need something to happen w/ACT stock price ASAP. ACT stock price can't be sitting at $.07/.08 forever. Gary needs an agreement with one of big Pharmacies w/o asking for the moon now. He needs to ask for a reasonable price to sell the entire company. Again, he can't be asking for Top Dollar with so many shares on the open market.
Gold, it's just going to take more time I'm afraid. I keep trying to ignore the activity of the stock for weeks on end and then I tune back in to see what's up. I was driving myself nuts checking all the time-a watched pot never boils kind of thing. His accomplishments may be one of the major attractions for big investment down the road. It certainly won't hurt. I'm hoping that one day all of this uncertainty and low stock value will be long gone and we'll all be so busy adding up our profits that we'll remember these earlier days as being a little silly and short sighted.
Nj, I agree with all of that about Dr. Lanza, but the LOYAL part, because we're all LOYAL to our own best interests first. And I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave ACT right after efficacy is proven for AMD & SMD, because he has a lot more to offer the world, than being tied down to a corporate culture.

keep, Lanza certainly does have a lot more to offer the world but that is precisely why he will stay at ACTC. One of the great things Lanza has done is put together a fabulous team at ACTC. It is also a team that displayed tremendous loyalty back in 2008, even taking pay furloughs, when the impact of the Bush Administration almost drove ACTC out of business. As a result ACTC survived and Lanza and the great team he assembled have been in a position to set their own course and depending on their findings make adjustments as they see fit without any external interference. This couldn't be better because they do know more about several significant areas of stem cell research and treatment than anyone else. Lanza and his team won't and shouldn't allow any interference with their exceptional pursuit of the current breakthroughs they are leading. Lanza won't leave ACTC and they also will not allow a buyout. If they were bought out by Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, etc., they would suddenly be subject to possible internal political considerations of high placed executives within a very large company. The larger corporation very well might also not be fully committed to stem cell research and development because they are making good money on medications which stem cell treatment might replace. As a result, they might want to slow down some areas of stem cell progress and totally ditch other aspects of it.
ACTC will not allow a buyout. As they have said they will seek partnerships in specific areas with the companies that can help them the most in the areas they are not going to develop themselves such as distribution and advertising. Rabin, who also will not leave (because he fully understands the great potential ACTC has in place) has said this clearly and understands the importance of this. That is one of the reasons why Lanza felt very fortunate that Rabin was there to step pretty much right into place when Caldwell unfortunately passed on. Many here do not seem to understand how much more difficult that transition might have been.
To repeat, Lanza has put together a fantastic team. He and the team are not going to leave and are not going to allow a buyout. Rabin has become a totally integral part of the team, understands and fully appreciates what is going on at ACTC and is not going to leave either. For those who have doubts about Rabin's abilities and achievements since he took over go back and see what Dr. Stephen Schwartz had to say about him.
We can thank our lucky stars that this is a team that is going to stay together and continue to chart its own course and will not compromise the tremendous potential they are pursuing.
