I have SMD with a current acuity of 20/600 in one eye and 20/200 in the other. If I could get to 20/40 in just one eye I would be over the moon ecstatic! And I would pay whatever they charged for the treatment. The potential for this treatment is life changing for millions and the future of this company is beyond fathoming if it is able to extend to other eye diseases. I have been patient with this desease and I am going to be patient wit this company in hopes that they it right!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Scovell: I have AMD. So far, I'm still seeing OK. But, the doc says it is advancing more quickly than the average. So, I hope they get this on the market soon. My only thought is that you are going to see better within less than a year. My heartfelt wishes for a very successful treatment when it gets available. I'll be in line, also, but you go before me.
From the reading I've done you better go before me, it looks like they might get better results hitting it before it has progressed too far. Mine has stopped worsening and I have been the same for about 10 years now. Got my fingers crossed for us both.
Scovell, yesterdays news must have given you great hope. And I wonder what the cost will be for having this procedure done? I did read where Gary, Rabin, as an example only, threw out $10K per treatment, and I would think the government might chip in to help those that can't afford it. So good luck to you.
Oh, do you own any shares? Because if all goes well, as it should, that could help pay for your treatments.
I hope this goes well fo the company and within a short period of time you'll be able to get this treatment for your eyes. I too suffer from a vision loss although not from either of these 2 diseases but you never know which diseases may benefit from further research. I definitely understand what you are dealing with and a return to somewhat normal vision in one eye would be a dream come true. The woman in the first trial with SMD had very positive results and was very happy to have improved vision. I'd like to see if the embryonic stem cells would benefit those with lung and heart disease as well. There has been promising treatments overseas with adult stem cells and these diseases. Good luck to you and thanks for the reality check.
