    Egypt and Obama

Military slaughtering hundreds of citizens this morning. I wonder if the president regrets sending f-16 and tanks to them. On the job training can be dangerous.

    • In a matter of hours Wednesday, two peaceful protest camps in Cairo turned into unrecognizable war zones. And the violence is still under way.

"I think what we're seeing right now is just the beginning of what is promising to be a very, very long and bloody battle as the interim government and the security forces try to regain control of the streets," CNN's Arwa Damon reported from Cairo.

At least 149 people have been killed in clashes between Egyptian security forces and supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsy, state TV reported. More than 1,400 have been wounded.

The Muslim Brotherhood said earlier that 200 Morsy supporters were killed and more than 8,000 were injured. But the party has given exaggerated figures in the past, only to revise them later.

In another development, Mohammed ElBaradei resigned as vice president of foreign affairs, state-run Nile TV reported.

Egypt declared a month-long state of emergency beginning at 4 p.m. local time (10 a.m. ET), according to state television. A curfew was also established in several cities including Cairo, from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday -- and all violators will be jailed, state news reported.

The violence began with Egyptian security forces storming the two massive makeshift camps filled with Morsy supporters, bulldozing tents and escorting away hundreds of protesters.

Chaos ensued. Many protesters refused to leave, even in the face of bulldozers and surrounded by the injured and dead. "They said they're prepared to die," CNN's Reza Sayah reported from Cairo.

      • Where are the Christian hating liberals on this one? They protest prayer in school, they block charter funding for Christian children, (who's parents pay the same taxes as anyone else), they repeatedly attempt to tear down the traditional Judeo-Christian values which formed our nation, they sneer at prayer yet promote a "science-theology" movement in schools which takes the shape of earth day and global warming paranoia. They use this paranoia to their own ends, to shape energy policy and behavior..which enables the companies who support them...many of them from outside the U.S.

Now, they are supporting a radical Islamic theocracy who is aligned with terrorist regimes, organizations, and movements all over the world. The "Muslim brotherhood" is somewhat similar to the loose knit organization which peaked in this country around the beginning of the 20th century, the KKK. Where are the libs now??? They are hypocrites to the extreme. They should be on the side of a secular government, which allows for true religious freedom founded on Western Culture.
Egyptian military statement was plain and simple, "We will not be lead by a baffoon, regardless if he was elected by democratic vote". I wish our military would take the same stand.

    • Obama is FOR Morsi and the Brotherhood - he doesn't "regret" anything.....

    • The Dear Leader is to ego driven to ever admit a mistake. He a megalomaniac and they are incapable of admitting mistakes.

      Sentiment: Buy

    • President Barack Obama has delayed the delivery of four U.S. F-16 fighter jets to Egypt because of the country’s political unrest, officials said Wednesday - reversing earlier assurances from the Pentagon.
The jets were supposed to be delivered to Egypt by the end of the month. They are part of a package to provide 20 F-16s to Egypt over the course of the year. Eight jets have already been delivered.
