Enjoy your weekend Doc,When my boys Rott/pit died by18wheeler on the nearby Hwy.turned out,was a bonding experience father and son moment about life after we shoveled him off the Hwy be dug a 3ft hole taking turns while sobbing in between he was slow due to arthritis the reason he didn't make it over to the other side.and not to mention ole Socks was 12 years old.He had a good life tied to the back yard barn pole because he loved to eat the neighbors hens or technically he didn't eat them death by chase?I suppose. anywho Socks was what my boy named him all his paws were white big enormous head he looked like a Grizzly bear that's what I called him bear so sorry at least you have a few more days together enjoy what time you have life is so short. If it wouldn't offend you I'd like to offer a little song by ..."Bob Marley" it may cheer you up while sipping your favorite beverage at the mixing table.....he.he....The man cave bar......It's called ....
"Don't worry be happy"......enjoy
Doc, sorry about your pup. Lost mine 20 months ago, he was a Yellow Lab White Shepeard mix rescued from the west side of Chicago (worse then southside), vet said used as pit bull fodder when he was 6 months old. Still in great shape at 9 1/2 years, but he had bad breath & was drooling. Took him in and he had 3 weeks to go due to Canine Oral Melanoma in his bottom left jaw, it goes way to fast. He was the life of the party with people & dogs, as well as a great protector of our house. He got steak every dinner those last 3 weeks & visited all his friends. Can't beat the loyalty of a dog, that's for sure.
If he is no longer in a good place, don't make him suffer for your sake. Hard to let go, but you have to do it. Hang in there!
Lars,, he is coughing up the most awful stuff after I gave him a shot of rocephin last night,(high power antibiotics) and is drinking water now, so he is better today,, I really thought he would die last night but he is a warrior,, and no, I won't let him suffer,, he has been to good a friend to do that to him,, He is the last of his liter, his brother died last year and we had to put him down,, God I hate that,,They were together since birth,, it is so hard but I must think of him and not us,, but again, I think he is going to pull out of this one,, bad case of pneumonia and I think he had a mild heart attack,, thank you so much for your thoughts and concern,,
