In the words of Sen. Ted Cruz (R) Tex., a true American patriot:
“It is the most unpopular law in the country,” Cruz said. “Millions of people have lost their jobs, have lost their health care, have been forced into part-time work, have their premiums skyrocketing, and right now, Washington isn’t listening to those people."
Folks, this time let's remember in November and send Washington a message.
OBAMA’S PLAN TO PAY PEOPLE ENOUGH TO EAT STIRS CONTROVERSY
ANDY BOROWITZ | The New Yorker | 3/14/2014
Washington (The Borowitz Report) — President Obama has sparked outrage in Congress and renewed calls for his impeachment by signing a daring Presidential memorandum that would pay workers enough to eat.
The memorandum, which is based on the President’s view that people should be paid for the hours they actually work, is shaping up as one of the most controversial and incendiary actions of his Presidency.
House Republican leaders held a press conference this morning to warn Obama that, by advancing his agenda of paying people for the work they do, he is “playing with political fire.”
“A Presidential memorandum is a powerful tool and should be used sparingly,” said House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio). “It is not a vehicle for this President to enact his pet theories about people earning enough to survive.”
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Virginia) concurred, telling reporters, “With one stroke of the pen, President Obama is removing the single greatest incentive for work: hunger.”
“Apparently, President Obama needs a lesson in American history,” he said. “Hunger built the railroads. Hunger picked the crops. When the American people learn more about this action of the President’s, they will see it for what it is: a hunger-killer.”

Gov. charity is already causing a medical crisis in America "Obesity" check it out. Of course just because someone is OBESE doesn't mean they are not hungry. Perhaps these victims of government charity could sue
Health care reform is an entirely different thing from health care insurance. Health care would be much cheaper if there was no such thing as health care insurance. The purpose of Obamacare was not to provide health insurance. It was to destroy private health care. But the socialists ideas always produce scarcity and less quality in whatever they take over. True health care reform would involve applying basic economic principles , such as increasing the number of doctors and nurses, eliminating artificial restrictions to entry into the various medical fields, promoting charity hospitals, etc. Instead , we are presented with a fraudulent scheme designed to destroy the private health care industry, and to fleece the young and healthy, and whlich is continually lied about by Obama, and hls democrat socialist gang, who passed it . There purpose is to buy enough votes to establish a socialist/communist regime in the US so Obama can bring Americans down to the low level he thinks they deserve. Meanwhlile he, like all communist head of state, wiil be very wealtlhy.

Also, rodent, if this is true why does every other developed country in the world provide universal healthcare at half the cost of the US while the US ranks way down at #37 in quality of healthcare in the world. You seem to not be aware of the basic facts here.

rodent, weren't you RWNJs just complaining about the feckless and weak Obama with the Mom jeans compared to the strong, effective and manly Putin. Why would you now complain about Obama moving our country towards being a strong and manly communist regime? Isn't that what you wanted?

You sound like a very intelligent person..how did you get to know so much of nothing? Politicians sit on their #$%$ and do nothing regarding health care reform and nothing comes out of your trap until someone tries to make sure people don't die because they can't afford health care. I'm I missing something here? Come on, what would Ayn Rand say...let them eat cake? Why don't you just stick to ACT and help us all out here.

dbecker, you had a tough situation and I don't blame you for embracing Obamacare. Certainly something had to be done for people in your situation. Most who oppose Obamacare believe universal coverage could easily have been accomplished with bipartisan cooperation but the likes of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid would have none of it. They had the majority rule and rammed it through. The majority of the people in the country were forced into something they did not need and to top it off it was done by sleight of hand. This healthbill could have been accomplished at less cost with majority support if political egos did not get in the way. Again I understand your situation and I would also embrace Obamacare under the same circumstance. I wish you and your family well and hope the politicians in D.C. can finally come together and do the right thing for people like you and also for the country.
Ob, you show me any politician, regardless of political affiliation who does not have an agenda. Guys like you are so focused on a liberal agenda that you hate anyone you perceive as a treat to it; Cruz stands for equal justice for all, small government , low taxes, and preservation of our U.S. Constitution. Tell us what is wrong with that?
Let's take a look at the other side. As an example, I have been paying $ 12,000 + a year for private health insurance. And for private insurance, I have a $ 5,000 in network yearly deductible and $ 10,000 out of network yearly deductible. Once the minimum of $ 5,000 yearly out of pocket has been met i have coverage of 80/20. Unless you are with a group, this is the best insurance you can get for the money. There is no vision and no dental. So each year, I have accumulated medical bills for children and myself that I am unable to pay. Three years fast forward, I am still paying off those bills and can no longer go to the doctor for myself and kids. They get one allowed visit per year with a $ 40.00 copay. No sick visits as everything must be paid in addition to $ 40.00 copay. Based on income, I qualified for Obama Care and now have health insurance to visit a physician if a problem should arise. Although I was not an Obama fan, I am quite happy with Obamacare. I guess the bottom line is you cannot make everyone happy. Before, the top 1% in the country were being catered to, now it is the middle and lower income group. Not bad
DOCTOR TOTALLY SCHOOLS AN ANTI-OBAMACARE SENATOR ON HEALTH CARE
The Huffington Post | by Paige Lavender | 03/13/2014
Dr. Danielle Martin, vice president at the Women's College Hospital in Toronto, totally schooled Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) on health care Tuesday.
Martin was in Washington D.C. to answer questions from a U.S. Senate subcommittee led by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on different health care systems around the world. When Burr asked Martin "on average how many Canadian patients on a waiting list die each year," she answered with a fact about the American healthcare system.
"Do you know?" Burr asked.
“I don’t, sir, but I know that there are 45,000 in America who die waiting because they don’t have insurance at all," Martin said.
But that wasn't the only question Martin schooled Burr on. There was also this exchange:
Burr: What do you say to an elected official who goes to Florida and not the Canadian system to have a heart valve replacement?
Martin: It’s actually interesting, because in fact the people who are the pioneers of that particular surgery, which Premier Williams had, and have the best health outcomes in the world for that surgery, are in Toronto, at the Peter Munk Cardiac Center, just down the street from where I work.
So what I say is that sometimes people have a perception, and I believe that actually this is fueled in part by media discourse, that going to where you pay more for something, that that necessarily makes it better, but it’s not actually borne out by the evidence on outcomes from that cardiac surgery or any other.
