BENGHAZI CONSPIRACY CLAIMS STILL NOT ADDING UP

Move To Declassify Latest Benghazi Report Undercuts Conspiracy Claims Yet Again

      Michael McAuliff | HuffPost | 07/31/2014

WASHINGTON -- The House Intelligence Committee voted Thursday to declassify its investigative Benghazi report, a move that likely further undercuts the premise behind the House's $3.3 million Benghazi select committee.

When it is released, the report will mark the fourth major probe of the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the American consulate in eastern Libya, all of which have identified flaws in the responses, the intelligence and the security surrounding the incident that left four Americans dead, including Ambassador Chris Stephens.

But none of the reports have found any wrongdoing or hints of conspiracy that the recently created House Benghazi select committee is tasked with unmasking.

The House Armed Services Committee found the military did all that it could to intervene. It also discredited the claim that someone ordered military forces to stand down. The State Department's legally mandated Accountability Review Board investigation came to similar conclusions, led by Ambassador Tom Pickering and retired Adm. Michael Mullen, former Reagan and Bush administration officials.

A Senate Intelligence Committee review achieved similar results.

It is unclear exactly when the Intelligence Committee report will be released, or how much will be declassified after vetting by intelligence officials.

But one member of both the House Intelligence Committee and the Benghazi panel said it will be very much in line with its predecessors.

"The Intelligence Committee report adds to the body of investigative work now completed by numerous committees in Congress, and reaches the same noncontroversial conclusions -- that the initial talking points provided by the intelligence community were flawed because of conflicting assessments not an intention to deceive, that there was no stand down order, that the diplomatic facilities lacked adequate security, and that our personnel at the scene acted bravely and appropriately," said Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) in a statement.

"This bipartisan report should be declassified quickly, so that the American people may know what we have learned behind closed doors, and how it concurs with other analysis already made public," he added.

The plan to release the report was so uncontroversial among the secrecy-minded committee members that it passed on a simple voice vote.

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, noted that the new report would be the latest to show the exact opposite of what Boehner said the select committee would prove. Cummings has often sparred with Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) on Benghazi claims.

"The Benghazi Select Committee was created more than two months ago, but Republican committee chairmen who were passed over continue to hold their own hearings, release their own transcripts, and issue their own reports -- achieving exactly the opposite result Speaker Boehner promised when he created the Select Committee and authorized its $3.3 million budget."

    • POLL | MILLIONS OF AMERICANS WHO NEED JOBS WANT CONGRESS TO GET TO BOTTOM OF THIS BENGHAZI THING FIRST

ANDY BOROWITZ | The New Yorker | 5/9/2014

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Millions of unemployed Americans who have fruitlessly been looking for work for months are determined that Congress get to the bottom of what happened in Benghazi, a new poll indicates.

ACCORDING TO THE SURVEY, JOB-SEEKING AMERICANS HOPE THAT CONGRESS WILL EVENTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT JOB CREATION, BUT THEY ARE ADAMANT THAT IT HOLD NEW HEARINGS ABOUT BENGHAZI FIRST.

By a wide majority, respondents to the poll “strongly agreed” with the statement “I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO FIND A JOB, BUT NOT IF IT IN ANY WAY DISTRACTS CONGRESS FROM MY NO. 1 CONCERN: FINDING OUT WHAT REALLY HAPPENED IN BENGHAZI.”

In related findings, a survey of Americans found that taxpayers overwhelmingly consider Benghazi hearings to be the best use of taxpayer money, well ahead of schools, roads, and infant nutrition.

In the House of Representatives, Speaker John Boehner released the following statement: “I want to reassure the American people that, until we have completed our Benghazi investigations, there will be absolutely no action on job creation, infrastructure, immigration, education, housing, or food.”

Losers are always in the prog bus, travelling to nowhere.

      • I see ya in ya "news" room as ya enjoy ya high....long day, eh? Pot make comedians the "good" news reporters ya seem to gravitate to. No wonder, ya intellectually bankrupt. BTW did stewart or andy mention Timmy was told to lie for the House of Lies? Tsk, Timmy didn't even know what "dog whistle" was. He learned it from the "best" in the house of lies. Poor guy, no wonder he quit his Job, couldn't take lying to America any longer......hehehehehehehehe

    • You are absolutely right, fraudleyzzzzzzzzzzz, and you and all your RWNJs must stay on right on top of Benghazi. You all know that all the facts of the terrible deeds of Hillary and Obama are there and if they are not all out yet that just means you have continue to work harder on getting them out. That's why I am saying this Krauthammer guy must himself be a Communist or Socialist plant.

Krauthammer is telling you to throw in the towel and is actually saying:

      || the benghazi investigation "is done" and that time has run out for Republicans to get the answers they want. "Politically speaking, the administration has won," Krauthammer said on Fox News Channel's “Special Report” Wednesday. "They ran out the clock." ||

This is virtual treason to say when you know all the facts about the guilty are there and just need to be brought forth even if it takes several more years of investigations. What kind of schlumps would you RWNJs be if you went along with a godforsaken conclusion like this. Krauthammer must know what treachery he offers. You RWNJS must continue to move ahead. How could you not when all the evidence is there to be brought out plus the Chairman of the appropriate investigating Committee who is willing to go on forever if need be. You could not live with yourselves if you just gave up to such a cowardly demand. You must go on:

      BENGHAZI! BENGHAZI!! BENGHAZI!!!

      FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!

      • Elk, we Know who the communists are. Your charade is going no where. There were only two people with authority to issue a "stand down" order, POTUS and the Sec of State, and neither has the guts to step forward and admit it. You go ahead and keep standing behind them and you will be exposed along with them as covering up the truth and deceivers of the people. IRAQ IRAQ IRAQ BUSH BUSH BUSH.........................Forever.

    • of course it does - it actually ends up right down Obama's throat.......

    • #$%$ #$%$,.,.,phony baloney.....OMG the Administration, like all Administrations, spun a story. IT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED AND GONE THROUGH CONGRESSIONAL HEARINGS THAT NOTHING COULD HAVE BEEN DONE AT THAT TIME TO GET A DIFFERENT OUTCOME. By all means though.....keep this alive and well, since it is all you have.

      • I stand corrected, not the administration but an Aide in the Administration was spinning.....OMG, stop the presses.........and no one cares about the B.S. that was put forth by Bush and the invasion of Iraq......why? I guess because he is a Republican and they get a carte blanche by their fellow Republicans for committing atrocities......

      • Flop, how can you say that when no effort was even made. I have heard some in the military who disagree with you. The media stations you and elk watch aren't keeping you informed. The search for the truth is being covered up with an "I don't care" attitude.

      • "...OMG the Administration, like all Administrations, spun a story"

Really? Floppy man, ya both floppy and sloppy, floppy. All of a sudden ya conceding there was chicanery in the Benghazi incident at the highest levels of our government. Then why the "phony scandal" brush off? It is not looking good Floppy, it is not looking good. I will miss ya "BENGHAZI, BENGHAZI, BENGHAZI, pot chant.

The next shoe to drop will be the IRS "smidgen of corruption" squeals. I wonder where those papers will trail to.
