Does it bother anyone that Lois Lerner who headed the IRS division that processed applications for tax-exempt status, has refused to testify under oath and now the IRS can't find the her emails, maybe a special prosecutor can. this is a huge cover-up. much bigger than i first thought.
Yes, ace it bothers me, and it probably bothers all those who are interested in preserving freedom and prosperity in America. It does not , however, bother the socialists/communists/liberals who think that it is perfectly alright for our misguided communist President and his gang to use the power of the government via the IRS, the EPA , the DOJ and the NSA to target their ;political opponents. Nixon was brought down for much less.
The IRS has been used to target people or organizations for decades. This is nothing new. Both parties have done it. The Church committee report in 1976 showed that J. Edgar Hoover used the IRS to target the "New Left" in the 1960s who were against the Vietnam War. In 1969 Nixon authorized the IRS to target political enemies. In 1993 Clinton used the IRS to target the travel agency UltrAir. To quote the Economics and Political Journal in 2002 "“the percentage of tax returns audited by the IRS is markedly lower in states that are important to the sitting president’s re-election aspirations. We also find that the IRS is responsive to its oversight committees.”
"Those who cannot remember their past are doomed to repeat it."
George Santayana, 1905
We must be ever vigilent of whoever is in power and not look the other way if it suits you. Have a happy July 4th.
with that logic its OK. well Germany found out what happens with this type of political corruption. As much as I disagree with the democratic party I would never want a one party system. All voices should be heard in a democratic society .To target political opposition so their voices cant be heard is criminal. Not sure that happen here but every american should want to know. Take are hard look at Russia China Iran and many more. Only a fool wouldn't want to know,if this took place.
The point is, I think, what difference does anyone's opinions make? None. So why think about it. Take care of yourself and your family. Except for finance and the events that could impact your investment decisions, turn off the news. Pay attention to things you can influence, like your net worth. Save. Become increasingly independent of those aspects of life which are beyond your control. Think about ACTC, STEM, CUR... screw the political drama. It makes no difference. It has no influence on your personal life. You can put money in the bank. Your thoughts and emotions mean less than #$%$.
